That it does. A few hours ago, I decided to change my view of Valentine's Day. Though it is true that V-Day has now been reduced to a commercial holiday, but we can stop this. Gradually, more and more of our brethren have come to hate this "wretched" day in which love is recognized, embodied in a man that wrote a love note to his jailer's daughter. Every year as the day draws nearer, more and more people across the globe- scratch that, wherever they celebrate it- cry and woe of this holiday's unfairness, saying that it just makes them feel bad about themselves because they aren't taken. Well, ladies and gentlemen, I think that this special day not only represents the love we share with that special person, but extends out to all your friends and family. This holiday is not a celebration of romance and passion between two people, it's the celebration of love itself, in its raw and purest form. The beautiful kind of love found only in the purest of hearts, the love reserved for fairy tales. That love, my fellow man, is the true love we celebrate here. Take the advantages of this holiday and harness it, reaching out to all your family and friends. I, for one, plan to do this dedicatedly with all my heart, revealing really and truly what love really is, what this sappy-seeming holiday is in its nakedest form. I pledge never to let true love die.
If you've read this and felt enlightened, I congratulate you. The grass is definitely greener on the other side, this side.
*Cough, cough.* Now I feel proud of myself.
