Going to attempt something I've never done before: write two entries in one day! About the last entry. A big thank you to the creators of Total Drama Island, and to their bad-boy lovechild Duncan, for giving me inspiration for Flotsam's character.
Going a little bit forward in time. The Changeling Babies had just arrived on the scene in the Gaia towns. I felt pity for the little dears, who seemed to have come from a place with no traceable origins, with no parents or guardians to their names. I decided to adopt one of them for myself. My only condition was it had to be a girl; a boy just seemed like too much work without a husband to help me. (I am single and have no intention of marriage until a later point in time.)
I filled out the papers in Aikea and said "Hi" to Vanessa while I was there. I got my hair color changed just for the occasion. (It was a purple ponytail too.)
I stood in the waiting room in the adoption center and waited. You couldn't request what types of features you wanted for your child, so I was hoping I wouldn't get an ugly child, even though I would love it no matter how it looked. I was crossing my fingers and scrunching my eyes for a little girl who would look just like whom I had named her for.
A doctor came into the room. He started calling out the names of the people in the waiting room. One by one, they all came up to recieve their respective children. "Trish, Edward, Xavier..." The list went on and on. I was beginning to think that maybe this had all been a hoax and they wouldn't give me a child of my own just because I was a sea-witch.
"Anastasia." I froze for a moment in perfect euphoria. I was going to recieve my own little bundle of joy after all. Maybe humans were not all biased against sea-witches; indeed, that was what it seemed for the doctor held out to me a little girl with dark-hair and brown eyes. By some luck of the draw, she did look just like her namesake. I held her in my arms, tears streaming down my face. She was mine and I was hers, my own little Sarah Jennifer Williams Connely.
After a few weeks of everyone being enchanted by Sarah's beauty (Even Flet and Jet were fond of her.), I started having to leave my grotto on long errands. I swam to far away lands to fetch rare items for his majesty, Jareth- King 0f Goblins. One such quest for the Spartan Cloak took me far affield for some time. When I returned, I found my identity had been stolen and used to fraud me for something I didn't do.
(Thank you to twilightbella123 for helping me get my identity a thousand times!)
When I returned to my grotto, I found Sarah had disappeared. Instantly, I went into a panic. Where had she gone?! How was she?! Hurt, kidnapped, or worse still dead?! I was hollering her name all over the Labyrinth and Gaia looking for her. (Some people thought I had gone half-crazy. xp cry )
I sometimes took Sarah Jennifer with me on my errands in the Goblin Town. When I first took her to the Goblin Castle, his majesty seemed enchanted by her. But when he found out her namesake, he ordered me never to bring her to the castle again. Good thing that didn't stop the goblins from taking a shine to her.
One day, I got a message from the Goblin King that he had a special package for me at his castle. That was strange considering I was the one who usually had special packages for him. I had the Orindae item anyway, so I walked around the walls, past the false alarms, through the Bog of Eternal Stench, and up to the castle.
His majesty was waiting for me at the front door, goblins flanking the stairs on either side. They parted for him as he strolled down the steps, something wriggling inside his strong arms. "Precious little thing," he said. "My goblins found it as they were making their rounds near the border of the Morraine. They hoped that it wasn't one of Mizumi's tricks. Even still, they brought it back to the castle and showed it to me." (Yes, goblins horde everything, not just treasure. Just check the junkyard on the edge of the kingdom.)
'What in the name of Poseidon could he be holding in his arms?' I wondered. Not forgetting my business with him, I handed over the Orindae to his goblins. They scattered, and Jareth shifted the bundle so that I could see what he was holding. You can probably guess what was inside.
I took it in my arm and then threw myself at him, knocking him to the ground as I did so. "Thank you ever so much!" I cried, in tears. biggrin crying "You have no idea how much this means to me."
"Believe me. I think I do."
"I shall never forget your kindness. How can I ever repay you?"
"You can start by getting off of me."
"Oh, sorry." redface
