A Fallen Angel's Life
The LAIAS was Awesome!
The Los Angeles International Auto Show was so awesome! I spent 12 hours there, and would have stayed longer if allowed (I stayed from the 10 a.m. opening to the 10 p.m. closing). My legs are still so sore from that day, from the waist down, I'm dead (well, not in one area)! Here are the "Cliff's Notes" for those who don't have the time to read everything.

Spent 12 hours at Auto Show.
Got invited by a GM spokeswoman to go to a little "afterparty" with the GM people.
Got in a fight during the drive home.

I spent a whole 12 hour day at the Los Angeles International Auto Show. I just couldn't tear myself away from the place! It was almost like Heaven. Honestly, I loved it so much that I went out and rented another car just to drive something different and have fun!

One of the things that made me sad was the state of our American companies at the show. GM's display area was pretty plain, although it was the biggest of the show since it has so many makes and models. Chrysler's area was pretty much dead except for the Zeo concept and the Challenger displays. Even ******** Kia had a more thought-out and flashier area than GM and Chrysler! Ford Motor Compnay was the only one that had a specially built display area of the American companies that was somewhat nice.

As much as I hate to say it, Toyota's (and Lexus's) place was probably the most populated area. Even though they aren't putting out anything new and exciting, they had the whole "Toyota Live" interactive show that got people to want to hang out, and you could sign up to test drive any Toyota you wanted. They were giving out all sorts of swag, especially in their Scion spot. It was brightly lit, and everything looked good. The Audi Group (Volkswagen/Audi) also had an awesome display area. It was nicer than the Toyota one, but they didn't have all the awesome marketing ploys that Toyota did.

GM did have the cutest girls at the show, though. Even though they all wore black slacks, they were still cuter than the women at the other brands. The "sexiest" girls though, were in the Porsche hall. They all wore these nice women's business suits with skirts instead of slacks. They weren't slutty or anything, but they really dressed them well, and they had sexier looks than the GM girls. And even better, all the Porsche spokespeople were the good looking and sexy women.

It was also a lot more classy than those stupid "Hot Import Nights" car shows where all the stupid young import fans go to. The LAIAS had a very family friendly atmosphere, where people could feel safe bringing their children without having to worry about thugs trying to act all hard and cool.

A cool thing that happened was that one of the GM girls noticed me coming back and forth and spending a lot of time at the GM displays taking pictures. She took me around to almost every car, and gave me all the information about them. She even had people wait to check out the cars so she could sit with just me inside and talk about all the car's features and amenities. Then I got invited to some GM afterparty they were having that night! I felt so cool and special!

So overall, the show was great, and I had a wonderful experience with it all. I'm definately going back next year! I did get into a fight at a gas station on the way home, but I'll write about that later.
