It has become apparent that many of you don't know me as well as I thought. Much less where my name originated from, so here's a little blurb about the almighty Poofster:
Punk:
Let's face it, I live for music. I've got no set style, but everyone I don't know refers to me as the "red punk" (hence all of the red.)
Penner:
Before my accident that damn near left me a cripple, I was the third best team penner in the state. Surpassing even my idol: Tory Milkey aka- the rocketman. I was setting state records and beating them. I could work a novice team right to the top, and then travel to another state and do the same. Penning was my passion. Almost like drawing. It was a necessity to life... Now I'm lucky if I can climb on a horse anymore.
For those of you less in the know, Team Penning is a sport where a group of 3 people works a heard of cattle without scattering them. The judge calls 3 cattle, and the team must work together to cut those cattle from the heard, and move them to a small pen on the other side of the arena. Once all three cattle are in, the captain (usually me) blocks the gate and calls time. You have a radius of 15 feet. If even one cow leaves the heard that is not marked, you get DQed. If you are over 90 seconds, you get DQed. If you touch a cow, you get DQed. And if one of the members enters the pen, you get DQed. It's a tough event that requires utmost finesse. In a nutshell, that's penning. And for the record, my best time was 34.72 seconds. biggrin
Poof:
My whole life I've had this habit of disappearing, and then reappearing again when needed. In eighth grade, my buddy Jeff coined me Poof- in reference to this trick. And wouldn't you know, it stuck. Throughout the years, he has laughed at the fact that I skipped his *awkward* year in high school just to jump back again in time to party hearty through our college years. Or show up randomly on his doorstep with concert tickets. To all of my old friends (I mean, we're talking WAY back) I am Poof.
And there you have it! A crazy name for a crazy girl. So thank you my dear friends, for reading this far, and taking the time to get to know me just a little bit better. wink
