When the grotesque children of the Devil take on God's holy warriors, they do battle in their jealously guarded true forms, far from our plane of understanding. The lost souls and the Lord's most righteous can rise (or fall) to destinations we cannot even begin to imagine, let alone comprehend in their entirety. When they battle, our weather bellows into wild tempests and the ground shakes and splits and animals quiver in unknowing anticipation of the impending Last Battle, and somewhere in our hearts, our souls, out subconcious, we know the war to end our time on Earth has begun. And we know we must choose a side.

The major factions of the Apocalypse are the obvious, the names we all know and love (or loathe): God and his white-winged messengers and Satan and his terrifying demons. But what many were never aware of was that these creatures have forever walked our Earth, taking over the skins of your family and neighbors. It is a precaution; they have to blend in to gain your trust and your support, or just to screw with you. Demons need a host to inhabit in this plane in order to be effective; angels in their true form can blind a mortal being, and deafen you with their voices.
Aside from the expected you have a small percentage of the population known as "Watchers," those blessed with the Holy Senses, giving them the ability to see and hear both angels and demons in their true forms. The gift (or curse, depending on how you look at it) was bestowed upon few humans by the Lord, in order to prepare His creations for the work required ot fight the final battles of a raging, end-of-the-world war. However, many of the Watchers today do not even know what their gifts are, or the power they hold.
Then there are those in the know who chose to make a different living. There are hunters, of demons and, yes, angels, who roam the land in search of supernatural beings. Some exorcise demons or slaughter murderous monsters, though some (usually blessed with the Holy Senses) chose bigger prey: angels. You'll be surprised to learn that there's a lucrative market out there for feathers from the wings of angels...or any other artifact you stumble across.

Just a random little idea I came up with, and am currently considering making a group roleplay...not that I have the time to be on here that much.
Yes, it is inspired in part by what's happening as of late on Supernatural, and something of a morbid curiosity and a flair for the paranormal. I'm not a religious person by any means, but you have to admit that this stuff is as fascinating as the Greek or Egyptian gods and goddesses.
