Every time I send out a really god PM or forum post that I spend a lot of time on, I think 'man, I really should put this in my journal'. I am still new to this journal thing and not in the habit yet, so forgive any copy-paste action on my part if you notice it.
Here is my question(s) of the day, because I am trying to define what it means to really "improve the inventory" beyond fixing the obvious bug where equipping stuff messes up the order. The trouble is, its not easy to find what users are saying and asking for. I can find *some* of it, but I know I am not seeing all of it and there no tally or even consensus really. How do I find the person who cares about inventory the way Lady Rat cares about the Avatar Arena or Amy Winehouse cares about the forums?
Right now, there is one feature request sticky, but its not managed and the OP hasn't been updated in years so there is lots of redundancy and no organization. I just went through the last 2 months of that thread looking for all the suggestions about inventory and avatar dress-up because we are working on that area now. I am also looking through the past month or so of site feedback for threads about inventory and avatar improvements, getting people to send me threads they remember or have subscribed to, etc. I don't have time to read the whole SF forum, and I know there are probably other good ideas farther back that I might be missing. There has got to be a better way to collect and list the feature requests from the community, as well as let the community know what we are prioritizing and why.
What are your thoughts on this? How can we improve the feature request sticky and overall collection of ideas? does it even make sense to have a single feature thread, or should we have one "official" thread per feature (like Amy Winehouses forums thread)? Do you think users would be willing to manage these types of threads, if there was a guarantee that staff would be reading it?
these are things i am asking devs and admins too, but would love to hear the user perspective from you.
