I could tell I was being watched as the teacher spoke, his voice just a little noise in the distance. My full attention was on the pair of eyes that I could just about feel boring into the back of my skull.

"He's looking at you again.." My so-called-friend whispered to me from the next seat.

I pouted. "Shut up, " was all I could get out before the teacher called on her for an answer to a question neither of us knew. But - just as I knew he would - the boy behind me raised his hand. "Four point eight milligrams." His voice was like silk; it took all the strength I had to not turn and ogle at him.

"Why? Just admit it. You like him~" Tammy purred, her eyes locked onto the boy.

"I don't even know him." "He's beautiful~" "Your point?" I sighed, glaring at her. "See!" "Doesn't mean anything. You think it, too." "But the thing is I am crushing on him, I'm just saying you have no chance!" She laughed.

The air was tense as the teacher glared at her. I hid a smirk, turning my head the other way, resting my chin in my palm. Tammy groaned as she gathered her things, stalking angrily out of the classroom not before shooting me an angry glare.

Half an hour passed, and I tried my hardest to pay attention to the teacher - but I was still dozing off when he said, "Alright then. Pick a lab partner and start with slide one." I heard his voice, though I didn't really get what they meant. My forehead was pressed against the desk and I could feel my hot breath blowing back in my face. I hated that; I turned my head slightly to direct the warm breath elsewhere, just barely hearing a scraping noise beside me - that, though, I ignored.

Until I heard the voice.

"Are you alright?" A very smooth - and slightly sympathetic - voice was directed at me. I sat up immediately, breathless as I stared into a pair of bright blue eyes. I staggered and nearly fell back, but caught myself on the edge of the desk. He half smirked, which - for some reason - pissed me off.

I sat up straight, straightening the papers in front of me, planning to ignore him. Minutes went by with him staring at me as I kept my eyes on the papers. I could feel the dreaded blush creep up on me again.

"I did the paperwork. There are two of them." I spoke softly from one end of the room, my father sitting across from me. "Very well. Family and relatives?" "The first, a female, is an orphan. She lives currently on school grounds. The other, male, has a human uncle, with whom he currently lives." The older man nodded at me, deep in concentration. I stood quietly and let him have his space.

"Close friends?" I cleared my throat. "The female has one, a female human - though the girl is untrustworthy. The male is unknown. People seem to shy away from him." He nodded once more. "Bio?" I looked down at my notes.

"Tabitha Iota. Tammy. Eighteen years of age. Blonde. 5'6", average. Preppy. Very gossipy. Lives with mother and father - who are divorced - in a large home about 10 miles from the forest." "Tell me about the other two."

"Samantha Jaden Ray. Sam. Eighteen years of age. 5'6", lean. Quiet. Knows of her being watched - though unknown of the reason why. Living on school grounds, though faculty is unaware.
Darek Furi. Nineteen years of age. 5'8", lean. A bit of a temper. Seems to know about the female. Parents are unknown. 'Uncle' is obviously not actually related. No other family."

The old man squinted. "You have done well, Kilou. Continue to keep watch on the two. Make sure the female is unaware of the conditions, and keep the male away from her."

I nodded solemnly, stepped out of the large room.
