This will contain mostly reviews. I will keep spoilers to a minimum where possible, but I can't guarantee spoiler free.
Luna
Luna's about a high school girl and her trans sibling. It's the first thing I've seen on trans teens written for ordinary high school kids. It's from the point of view of the sister and does a really good job of educating without preaching. Engaging characters, very positive message. The relationship between the siblings is well drawn. I liked the supporting cast and it covered a lot of stuff realistically. I really liked it. YA fiction has come along in leaps and bounds on gender stuff.

Think about it. For most of us, there were no positive GLBTQ characters in children's and YA fiction when we were growing up. It was adult fiction or nothing, and positive depictions of trans characters are still rare, regardless of your age group. When I was a kid, the only positive trans figure was Lithgow's character in Garp. Everything else was drag. Drag can be any number of things, but true transitioning trans characters in the 70's or 80's? Give me a break. I am so glad things are better for kids growing up now.

It made me cry some. What happens when your dreams are incompatible? I was so envious.
