Thanks for reading if you are.
7/6/08 Rooftop Snare A door flies open at the top of my head, Light pours out from the small crevice you made, I can see you coming up from a dark staircase, Heart in hand and eyes on me, You look so ready to sweep me off my feet, Have you done this before? Is this all a game? I wait on the roof, Not ready to decide, My arms stretched out wide, I could fall in your arms or fly away, I turn around to see your pleading eyes, Capturing my face and drawing me in, I can feel every movement and see through every lie, You want me to stay you want to be mine, I can hear your heart beat as you grasp my hand, You feel so warm to skin so bare, As you hold me tight everything stops, Life as we know it holding thin on a wire with but on snare, You pull back a wisp of my hair, Trying to bargain with the wire to repair, You want to start again with me by your side, But your world won’t collide with mine, We’re just two bodies frozen in time, You ask me again to take your hand, As I jump from down from the steep rooftop ledge, I meet your gaze, Your eyes lock with mine, I ask you if you’re ready to learn, Ready to believe that there is more to life, Than the things you can easily reach, I just want you to know that you can have me, Just as long as you’ll let me fly, Not only in your arms but in the sky, My eyes crave the light and warmth of your smile, Your company and mind, But first you must fill your void, I can’t replace what was lost to make you whole, I’m only a temporary fix to make you high, Not an overdose to last a lifetime, As for now I can’t decide, To fly in your arms as this moment in life, Or to take flight in the sky, Not ready to be held down by your pleading eyes, To take your hand and be yours and you be mine, Forever and always lost in my mind.
