"Would I lie to you, love?" Larissa gave Kane a sidelong glance at this remark. While his remark was unsettling and entirely ironic, Larissa still loved his to-die-for Irish accent.
"Hmmmm...."Larissa said, pretending to think on it with mock-seriousness,"You wouldn't happen to be the same Kane who literally bargained the leaves off a tree, just because you could?"
Kane cringed with a look of painful regret, but the humor in his eyes belied his despair.
