Folding time
One of my friends is currently in hospital. She is not going to survive. I don't realy know what to feel. She has had cancer all her life and was surposed to have died last year, yet she pursisted for this long.
I read a story when I was a child about a girl that lived in Japan. She suffered from "The atom bomb disease", from when the Hiroshima bomb dropped 1945. One day in hospital, she heard the legend about the paper cranes; If you fold One thousand papper cranes, you will be cured from any sickness. She started folding.
Right now, I am folding paper cranes for my friend. I beg for her survival, even if she probably is going to die this week. I am not only giving her paper birds, I am offering her my time. Every hour I use on making them for her will be put beside her hospital bed.
Please, give a few minutes of your life in making a paper crane in honour of those who live, suffer and die from cancer.
