I thought I had killed him. |

November 1st, 2004, 12:36 Location: Silent's Hut, Cheese Guild, Barton Town Status: Recovering from minor wounds. Feeling: Worried and warm.
I couldn't stay any longer. As I sat there by the fire tired and cold from staying up for a couple days straight I finally concluded that Nameri was not coming back. So, I did the unthinkable, I took that little girl up on her offer. I called out her name and she appeared rather quickly, banishing all the frost that had clung into my hair long since, resulting in my having to hack the braids away, in one quick warm motion.
She took me out of there, even helped me straight back to my cottage. I asked what she had wanted but she simply stared and muttered that I would soon know. That worries me for I agreed to something in which I did not know everything to. But it was cold and I had been driven mad with hunger. I would have given her my soul for a bit of warmth and food at that point.
Not long after that I was summoned to watch over my guild's owner as she promptly, upon my return, declared we were all heading towards Gambino's mansion for a party in which he was throwing for his son's birthday. His son's birthday was in May, not October.
Not long into the party somethine horrible happened. There had been warning signs but everyone, who suspected what would happen, would not take notice and leave. One of these people were the guild owner and I was forced to stay in the mansion to try and get her out.
I lost her at some point after I was bitten by the attackers. It was only after then did I realize we were doomed. I lost all concious thought after that point for a while and the next thing I had remembered was waking up to the sight of an empty vial and my dear brother Griffith sprawled out nearby completely covered with bites. It was then that I smelt my brothers blood all over my skin, clothes, and mouth. I remember how I shuddered once I realized that I could taste his blood.
I thought that in my frenzy Shatan had broken loose and presumed to attempt slaughter of guesses all around and that my dear brother had died trying to stop it. But then my dead brother got up.
I watched as his drooling corpse inched closer, still unaware of exactly what had happened. He even had normal concious thought. Immediatly I fled, terrified at the force in which had caused his eyes to glow and his flesh to rot away as he wandered closer.
Just outside of the room I saw humans and creatures such as my brother alike running amuk. The humans shot the monsters as the monsters bit deep into tender flesh as being shot. Once shot they kept getting up, it was a nightmare! It was then that I realized we were battling the undead, zombies, a nightmare come true. I immediately returned to the room in which my brother hobbled, knowing I had to save him by whatever means possible... since he had saved me after I had doomed him.
He wouldn't let me get close with a vial, and fearing that we would create a never ending circle of curing and biting I submitted to my fear that I would have to shoot him down to cure him.
It was a trying battle and in the end neither of us won. He turned me many times and each time I threw a vial down my throat before I lost concious thought before preparing to throw a bullet straight into his skull. The flying chunks of skull and brain became easier to watch after a half hour of doing so. But he was too strong and his ability to remain pretty much Griffith made shooting him the most difficult thing I had ever tried to do in my short lived life. I thought I would just die as he screamed in both pain and annoyance.
My nightmare had not been at maximum it would appear. The ground began trembling and word of a nuke heading right for the mansion spread like wildfire. Many ran, others lurched, some even were dedicated to stay and fight the zombies off. The zombies, most unable to understand what was going on, just happily chewed on the flesh they could aquire.
A giant tremble took place and I fell to the ground. My head bashed violently against the tile floor and the last thing I saw was Griffith's body lurching closer, his gaping mouth drooling in hunger as it reached my numb body. I blacked out whispering my apologies for failing across my mind.
I thought I was dead, completely blown apart from the nuke but I had been wrong. I woke up to the cheerful voices of the guild. Confused and tormented I sought out my dead brother, racing towards the mansion fast. It was gone, the entire place blown apart. The scream I heard then had been my own... uttered completely in anguish. I hadn't been able to save him, I had killed him... for it had been my bite that had turned him.
A jump had emitted through my body as a hand placed itself gently on my shoulder, my body had been crouched in the wail. I looked up through tear-stained eyes to see my brother looking down at me gravely. It would appear when the nuke hit it caused the vials to crash around him and he was cured. As soon as conciousness claimed him, he dragged the two of us out of the rubble and back to the guild. We had been lucky that the bathroom rubble had fallen just right to sheild us instead of crush us.
Now I sit here healing from the few bite wounds and my aching head. It was hard to believe all this happened just yesterday and we were lucky all of the guild members escaped alright.
