~_This is an exert from the book I'm writing. It doesn't have a title yet, so don't ask. The main story line is that a boy named Demetri was Turned into a vampire at the age of 14 by some ***** vamp, and now that ***** (Kaynne) wants him back because he is the Key to the Heart of the Angels, the source of the Angelic powers. So, Demetri as his protectors and friends that he didn't even ask for, Delilah, Morphious, Averion, and Ryley assist his guardian angel (but, Demetri doesn't know he's an angel), Kiyan, to protect him. But... will Kiyan and Demetir's relationship go farther than just father and son (they're not really related)?_~
Demetri sat in bed, rubbing at his head in anguish and a smoldering fear. For days now, he had been having dreams. Dreams in which Kaynne returned for him, held him, and whispered things to him he didn't want. He despised these dreams. He feared these dreams. He relished in them. The dreams were stirring up his blood-deep need for Kaynne; his sent, his touch, his voice, just him. He hated it. This day's dream was no different from the rest, other than place, time, and words said. Kaynne had come for him, touched him, kissed him, and left, leaving him cold and weeping like last time. It was sickening.
A sudden knock on the door jerked Demetri from his revelations, making him call out to the person behind the door with a thin voice. He sounded weak. He sounded frail. He sounded delicate. The door opened to reveal his companion and guardian Kiyan, who stepping into the room with a flowing, almost feline grace. He seated himself at the side of the bed, looking at the young vampire boy with eyes that pierced his very soul.
"You were screaming again," Kiyan said in a cool voice, watching the boy's thin frame become even more fragile before his eyes. "Is anything the matter?" The boy had his eyes downcast as he shook his head. Kiyan picked his chin up with his two fingures, looking deep within him. "You're lying."
Demetri broke under his gaze, falling into a weeping heap on Kiyan's lap. He told him everything; the dreams, the need, the eternal love Kaynne held him by. He sobbed, trembling with his crying. "Please," he whimpered, wiping his eyes. "I need help. I don't want to need him! I don't want to crave him. I want him away..." Kiyan cut him off, lifting his chin and kissed his tears away.
"Don't cry," Kiyan whispered, pulling the boy to sit in his lap. "I promised to protect you from him, and protect you I shall. Do not cry over him... I'm right here." Kiyan then, without a spot of shame, took his lips into his, massaging the back of his neck with his pale hand. Demetri was stunned. Kiyan kissed him, just like Kaynne had, telling him not to cry, and implying that he loved him. But... Kiyan's kiss had a different feel thatn Kaynne's. This kiss was surreal, passionate, and just... over-all pleasant. He sighed into the kiss, closing his eyes and balling his fist into Kiyan's shirt.
When they broke off, Demetri latched himself to Kiyan, feeling his heavy heartbeat against his temple. Demetri thought of the kiss for a moment, thinking of the feelings that were minced in withing the kiss. He then looked back up to his saviour, his green eyes filled with a sadness that could not be interpreted by a mere human.
"K-Kiyan," he whimpered again, pulling himself to rest his head against his shoulder. "What am I to you?"
The question threw Kiyan off guard. What was he to him? Well... he was like a son to him. He was like a lover to him, a companion, a master. He couldn't tell him all of this, though. So, he looked for the easy answer. "You are everything to me," he said, nuzzling the boy's forehead. "You are everything and anything."

A.N.- I love leaving people hanging! There's accually more to this scene and it's all sappy. I love the sappyness of it all! But, I leave you hanging there, suspended in mid air like a pengulem... that was a bit too poetic. Whatever! If you want to read the rest, you just gotta wait 'til the book gets published!... If it does. ^-^
