Chapter 10
Callista walked into school, everyone seemed to stare at her. She turned to one of the girls, and smiled.
“What is everyone staring at me for, did I grow another head or something?” She asked politely.
“No, it's your locker, there's blood seeping out of it.” She shuttered.
Callista took off towards her locker, at first all she could do was swallow, she felt her fangs grow in her mouth. She watched as Luecha took her away. Luecha then opened the girls locker, blood spilled out of a package and on to the floor.
“Oh my goodness.” She heard her teacher whisper.
Callista knew that the blood had to be cleaned up soon, or something was going to happen. She could smell the fact that this blood was not human, but it was a changer's blood, but the question was who?
“Callista come with me.” Miss Serpens guided her through the crowd. “Kirts!”
“Luecha, what's going on?” Mr. Kirts asked.
“Blood, bad blood.” She whispered, then turned her eyes on him. “Can you get someone to clean it up, before the vamps get here?”
“Certainly, have you seen Kirisina?” H e asked, smiling.
Callista knew that Miss Stach was Mr. Kirts fiancee, she knew the two were in love. That they would be marrying soon, but did Miss Stach know who she was going to marry?
“No.” She replied quickly and took Callista into her classroom.
Callista felt her fangs start to shrink, and then she could safely open her mouth.
“What was that all about?” Callista asked.
“You know Deleterios?”
“He's Nikki's father.” Callista told her slowly.
“Do you know his brother, Koros?”
“I didn't even know the creep had a brother.”
The bell rang and Leroson entered the room, Kirisina was with him, the two were smiling, Luecha wasn't. Callista knew that Luecha loved Mr. Kirts too, and that it sometimes pained her to see the human girl so close to him.
“Lu, can we talk?” Leroson asked.
Luecha turned on him, there was fire in her eyes, fire that Callista had never seen before.
“NO! WE CAN'T TALK, AND IF I WERE YOU I WOULD STAY AWAY FROM ME!” Luecha yelled.
“Lu, what's wrong?” Kirisina put her hand on the other woman's arm.
Callista felt the change from Luecha, and a charge, a charge that was not the woman's own.
“Just leave me alone.” She whispered, nearly in tears. “Please.”
The three left and Callista went to class.
“Are you alright?” Eric asked her.
“Yeah, I just had a mild scare this morning, I thought for sure I was going to drink that blood.”
“It wouldn't have been a bad thing.” Eric told her.
“Yes, it would have, that was changer blood, and this changer goes to the school here. It's possible that it was Ms. Serpens.” She replied quietly.
“You can't be serious.” Orison sat next to them.
“Do you two know a witch named Koros?” She asked.
Both boys looked at her, wide eyed. She noticed they looked at her with fear, they were worried about her and what might happen to her.
“How do you know him?” Eric asked, quietly almost a whisper.
“I don't Ms. Serpens, does, I think she's in trouble.”
Kirts was just as surprised as Kirisina, at Luecha's reaction. He was generally concerned about what was going on. He left his class, while they were working, Callista noticed, and decided to follow, any information they might be able to give would be a life saver, not only hers but her sisters as well. She watched him walk into Ms. Serpens room. She waited outside the door.
If you can hear me, Eric, come to Ms. Serpens room. Get the others.
“Lu, what's going on? You've never acted like this, not to anyone.” She heard Mr. Kirts ask.
“Nothings wrong, Kirts, please just leave me alone, will you?”
“That was a changers blood, found in Callista's locker, the principle had it tested.”
“I know.” Luecha pushed past him. “Just leave me alone, Kirts, you'll just make things worse.”
“Worse for who?” He asked grabbing her arm. “We've been honest with each other, since we met, what's going on?”
“Let go of me!” Luecha pulled her arm away from him. “You want honesty, I'll give you honesty, Kirts. I'm in love with you, and I can't have you, honest enough for you?”
Got here as fast as I could.
Thanks. Callista reached back and squeezed his hand, he gently squeezed it back. I have a really bad feeling about this.
Don't worry, I'm here, I'll protect you.
I don't think its me that needs protection, Eric.
“Why didn't you tell me, Lu?”
“Because, it wouldn't have mattered. KIRTS BEHIND YOU!” Luecha suddenly yelled.
Callista didn't know what happened next, but she felt Eric push past her. He forced open the door.
“Deleterious, what are you doing here?” Eric cursed.
“You did very good, Ms. Serpens, I thank you.”
“Get out of here, jerk.” Ms. Serpens told him.
“Uh, I wouldn't do that if I were you.” Koros whispered in her ear.
Koros had dark locks of blue hair and piercing silver eyes. He like his brother was a Witch, evil but he also cared, in a strange sort of way.
“You must be Koros.” Callista turned on him.
“And you must be the darling girl, Lestrants seduced.” Koros smiled at her, devilishly.
“He didn't seduce me, creep.” Callista hissed.
“Get out of here, Callista, this doesn't concern you.” Eric told her.
“Ahh, but it does, it concerns her more then you think it does, Lestrants.” Deleterios pushed Kirts body away. “Where is your sister, Callista?”
“You won't get her, you can't touch her.”
“The law can do nothing to stop me from getting my child. She is mine, and you know it, you all do.”
Luecha pushed the children back, facing the two witches. She changed quickly into a white Bengal tiger.
“Lu, are you attacking me?” Koros asked, laughing. “My blood runs in your veins, and you know it.”
Get out of here, both of you, I'll handle them. Just get out!
We aren't leaving you.
Kirts was still on the floor, and Koros turned and looked at him.
“You love him, but he doesn't love you. I just don't understand, why? I can give you so much more then he can. I can give you anything you want, Luecha.”
I don't want what you can give me. You say you can give me power, but that's not what I want.
“What do you want?” Koros bent down, and stroked her ears, she began to purr, and lose control of her senses. “Good kitty.”
“Now to dispose of you two pests.” Deleterios stood, and turned fire eyes on them.
“We aren't that easy to get rid of, Deleterios.” Callista stood her ground.
“I wonder what will happen when the authorities see that you two killed Kirts and then Luecha killed you two. I wonder, won't that be wonderful!” He laughed. “Go on, Koros.”
“What? This wasn't part of the plan, Deleterios. I won't allow you to use, Luecha like that, she is not a toy.”
“But isn't that what your using her for?” Deleterios asked.
“No, I love her. You 'words that should not be heard in a high school'.” Koros yelled at him, then tackled him to the ground.
What the shell is going on here? Callista thought. Then she looked over at Mr. Kirts, she was quick. She dodged both of the fighting witches, feeling her skin tingle She had to get him out of here.
“Mr. Kirts, can you hear me?” She whispered.
Leroson groaned. “Callista?''
“Yeah, its me, we've got to get out of here.”
