Yeah, 'twas our second game of the season. We played Canterbury and won 5-0.
It's a pretty good score, but we should have beaten them by SO much more. They really weren't all that great and we were playing down to them.
Still, it was interesting. A certain member of our team (who shall remain nameless) decided that she didn't want to get her nice, new underwear dirty [the field was a giant mud-pit] so what does she do? Takes them off. Right in the middle of the field. Yeah. She struggled quite a bit, so pretty much everyone who was there noticed what was going on. And for the rest of the game, people were shouting jokes, like want some blistex...you lips must be getting chapped! Twas funny, but a little much.
Anyways, it was one of the worse games of my life. I really wasn't running at all. I didn't break a sweat until 3/4 through the game, when their one good player was on my half of the field. Of course I managed to get hurt, though I didn't notice until I was taking my shin-pads off at home.
Someone crushed one of my toe nails on my right foot, so when I took my sock off, I was more than a little surprised to see red nail polish covering one toe. Yeah, then I realized I probably have never painted my nails red and that it was bleeding. Yay fun. I don't really know when it happened, but I think it was when one of them was sheilding the ball and stomped on me when she switched her stance. At least, it would make sense, but I dunno if that's actually when it did.
I remember being kicked in the ankle on my left foot on the inside, but I don't remember being kicked on the outside. Anyways, both sides are bruised and my ankle's kinda swelling now. So at the moment I'm alternating ice and heat, so that should keep the swelling and bruising down to a minimum. Yay for hot-tubs, which is where I'm headed after my homework.
It's weird though. I don't actually realize that I hurt until I'm not playing anymore. I guess I'm just not thinking about it during the game, or I'm subconsciously telling myself there's nothing I can do about it at the moment, so I ignore it. EIther way, yet another of my useful skills wink
So, off to homework!
Later ladies,

By the way, when Mina and I were driving by on the 111, I totally recognized you from across the street...it was all in the poof wink Although I would've liked to see you in action, Canterbury has shitty sports teams, so I'm hoping to go to another game to see you running up a storm!
