Moonlight Prayer by Melissa Camberos
Dear elderly full moon,
Why do you illuminate so so much light?
Your cool wondrous white texture,
You finally show yourself so full yet bright tonight.
With one glance,
It seems like all our worries disappear.
Our minds drift away into a unimaginable place.
Your glitter lights up the dark sky.
And leads lost souls towards the other side.
I feel like seeing your full figure is truly a blessing.
Better than the hymn of an angel,
Softer than the tiny hairs on our skin,
Brighter than the rays of our beloved sun,
Giving you more hope than there has ever been.
Dear elderly moon,
I can see your face and skin.
You frown of what you can see up there.
Our rage, sadness and careless sins.
And now as you glide away toward the side,
to shine your beauty in another layer.
I hope you heard me and we meet again,
So once again I shall say this moonlight prayer.
