Thanks for all the feedback so far! I'm so overwhelmed by the response I've gotten thus far! biggrin
Sarcasm aside, let's move on to something else.
Guild Captain and Crew members. Everybody wants to be one, I know. The way I see it, you all know who should be in charge. SO! I've decided that you all should nominate who you would like to have these positions. But you CANNOT nominate yourself-- Nor can you use mules/friends to nominate you.
HERE'S WHAT YOU DO
Can you think of somebody in the thread who would be a great Crew member? Send a PM to EverGleam_Guild about it. Tell me who you nominate and why. Assuming this gets a response, I will update this journal weekly with your nominations.
At the end of the thread, once we hit page 25k, the people with the most nominations will be subject to voting in the guild. Making a poll in the guild will prevent it being flooded by poll whores, I figure. Whoever has the most votes wins. It's like elections, minus confusing ballots!
So get your nominations in. Be logical about your choices.
Updates next week with results. *thumbs up*

Not much to update, other than a couple important things about the Panty Raid.
From now on, when somebody makes a bid in your auction, DO NOT PM ME ABOUT IT. My inbox has been flooded a few times already, and I can't keep up with all of the PM's anymore. Thus, I have set up a mule account JUST for the guild and guild-related activities.
Send a message to EverGleam_Guild - That is the name of a mule being used for this auction. In this message, include WHO made the bid and HOW MUCH the bid was. DO NOT PM SHRIKE ANYMORE. You can PM this mule any day of the week, as often as you like... and the inbox won't flood.
If you'd like to make donations towards the guild, those must also go to this mule account. When the guild is up and running, I will be handing the account and everything in it over to the guild captain.
GUILD STUFF
Still working on a list of subforums (see the post below)
No, I don't know who I will assign as crew members yet. Asking me about it won't make it happen, so knock it off with the PM's, okay?
We need to figure out what the entry fee should be. Suggestions appreciated, of course.
Alright! That's it for now. All questions, suggestions, concerns and all that jazz should be posted here in the comments. Or, discussed in the thread.

EverGleam: The Guild - Planning Stages |

SO! Everybody over at EverGleam knows that we're going to open a guild in hopes of keeping everybody together, even after the thread closes.
Before we even buy a guild, I want to KNOW what you want. I will not buy a guild without some general knowledge of what you want, need and would enjoy in a guild.
Here's what I have in mind as far as subforums go:
General Discussion Conversation, hangout-- keep in touch with all of your friends, discuss current events, yadda yadda. Role Playing Games I know a lot of people in the thread roleplay, so I want a place for you to do so together. All mini-shops will also go in this subforum. Art If you draw, paint, make music, dance, do ceramics... Pretty much anything artistic that you want to discuss? This is the forum for it. Contests Giveaways WILL continue. They may not be really expensive items-- They may not even be items at all. Any contest you have in mind will take place here- They will be run by members of the guild, not Shrike. Avatar Rate eachother, discuss the arena, TekTek creations Entertainment Talk about your favorite TV show, book, comics, cartoon... Media stuff.
Suggestions for subforums are GREATLY appreciated. You are not limited to the amount of subforums you have.
GENERAL STUFF
I will be choosing Captains and Crew members for the guild. How do you become a Crew member? Show some initiative to get this guild going. Show maturity, be level-headed and fair. I will NOT hand over a guild to someone who can't demonstrate these qualities. Choosing Crew is NOT a popularity contest, I assure you. That's not how I roll.
If you joined the panty raid to help drum up funds for the guild, you don't have to pay an entry fee.
All thread regulars will have access to the guild before anyone else.
That's it for now! All updates concerning the guild will be posted here in my journal. I HIGHLY AND DESPERATLY ENCOURAGE FEEDBACK. Post them here in the journal, discuss it in the thread.
Cheers! Shrike

Figured I'd better make an entry for August. I'd feel bad if I'd left an entire month without something smarmy to say.
Okay. I happen to like some trolls. Especially the ones that torment GD- which is a shithole that the regulars tend to rabidly defend. Why do I like trolls? Well, it's because they make the people who take forums WAY too seriously squirm. If you get THAT frustrated over some retard trying to act like a jerk online, you should seriously reconsider your place in the world. Find something important to b***h about, rather than how you "try so hard to keep GD a decent place to chat", then turn around and make a thread about some inanimate object you found shoved up your c**t.
Thank you, and goodnight... you... you imaginary readers.

You know what's fun? Swimming in a pool with too much chlorine. You know why it's fun? Because your eyes burn the next day and your hair is mysteriously lighter, even after two washings.
... Okay, so that's not exactly 'fun'. However, I will continue to label is as 'fun' so as to not fall into an angry fit of tears.
Been doing a lot of swimming this summer, for some reason. It's refreshing, I suppose, despite the ungodly heat. Sure, I may go to the public swimming pool that's full of children and hormonally imbalanced teenagers, but the nice thing is that I swim laps. Nobody swims laps. Thus, I have the lap pool all to myself. Huzzah! The one downfall of this is that they added another diving board to the side of the pool where the lap lanes are... so I've got kids screeching and leaping to their dooms two lanes away.
Last year I avoided the pool like the plague (self esteem/image issues, you see). Now, I'm overly confident in myself- riding high on that "I look hot in this swimsuit, and the more I swim the hotter I'll look. Bitches." mantra I've got going on in my head. It's very exciting to finally look good in a two-piece, my glee cannot be denied. Never again will I wear a one-piece. Why?
A) Absolutely zero support for The Girls in those things: I'm well endowed. I've had one too many embarrasing incidents involving one-pieces for this lifetime. I've come to terms with my boobs, we're on the same team now. They demand more support rather than being hidden/squished/given TOO much room which leads to flashing people on canoe trips. I obiediently oblige. Life is good.
B) Dammit, I just look good.
C) It's easier to tan with a two-piece. I'm sick of being pale and sickly looking. Hey, it was cool when I was a pseudo-goth, but it just doesn't work for me anymore.
YES. This deserved an entry. You know you want to know about my swimsuit problems and the solutions for these problems.
I'm... going to go... stab myself in the stomach now.

Trade my life for a barrel of gold |

It's summer. I'm a highschool graduate. I have a car. I have money in the bank. I'm independent and spontaneous.
This means I should go on a road trip.
I've been asking around for company, but all of my friends are reluctant to go along with me. They have things to do over the summer that are FAR more important than tooling around the midwest in my unreliable car, I suppose. Like looking after their nieces and nephews... or going to some bizzare summer brain-camp... or sitting in front of their computers playing Runescape (COUGH, no offence, Erik).
Going solo wouldn't be so bad. It would mean less pitstops, that's for sure. There would be no arguments or complaining about where we slept, how little we eat, or how loud the music gets. Yeah. That could be very fun. As much as I love having friends over, as much as I enjoy good company... there's no better feeling than singing at the top of your voice in your car, alone. I enjoy my solitude.
But where the hell would I GO?! Besides the obvious destination 800 some-odd miles away. What's inbetween here and there that could proove interesting? Hmm...
That does it. I'm seeking the ******** American Dream, and nobody can stop me. As soon as I figure out how to explain to my mother that I'll be gone for two... three... maybe four weeks, I'll pack my bags and go.
Whooo. neutral
