well holidays just started (no they didn't *just* start...they've been going for at least a week by now...)
and quite a lot already happened.
The Comics in Leipzig competition topics have been declared, for example...and now I'm tryin to figure out what to do about 'em.
Because they really suck.
For the 16-pages douijnshi submission the theme is more a genre.
'fantasy' !! let in the elves and anthros! yay!
it may sound like real eays and fun. but to come up with something seriously above average seems to get a little more complicated these days.
BUT
behold of the topic given for the single illustrations!!! ...free choice!
they. are. crazy. out of their mind!
they couldn't even choose the best ones satisfactory from the last years' comps.
the jury seems to be so much out of scene (they seem not to have any clue about manga/anime artwork AT ALL) that they picked a chibi/Sd pseudo NGE fanart for 2nd place in 2nd the most valued category! (the illustrations for ppl over 15 years of age)
it was...embarassing. not at least because there were many many many awesome picture in the ralley. i saw some of them on www.animexx.de and they took my breath away...but they didn't even get a flower pot! scream
these stupids!(the judges.i..mean..the judges.)
and how do they plan on comparing these year's submissions? if there's not even a topic-referrence they could stick to????? I just don't know.
but still...I'm cmpeting anywy...I want the free ticket for the Leipziger Buchmess 2008, so damn me bitching about the jury.
