edit: Umm...just wondering but didn't the ELS come around 2314 AD....then the 40% of humanity has undergone innovation around 2364 AD, with the rolling out of the Sumeragi-class deep space exploration vessel. ^.^;;
Although, making it so that that never happened does make for a very good plot line......................
