when i woke up this morning, i found that everyone in my house was either gone or leaving to go somewhere else, so i had the whole house to myself. getting some alone time is so rare for me these days, but i find that whenever i get it, i really enjoy it. first off, i kicked around and listened to all my old albums on vinyl, which hardly get used because my turn-table is in my living room where everyone in my house tends to gather most of the time. then i actually styled my hair and curled my bangs. (i got the whole bathroom to myself!). then i busted out my guitar and amp and had a jam session and learned a new song.
after a while, i got a little lonely by myself, so i packed my things and headed out downtown. i ran into my nerdy little brethren (A.K.A. younger siblings) in front of the local card shop, so i stopped and chatted them up. then i left and went out in search of new clothing.
i stopped into my parents shop first and managed to mooch an old-school studded belt, a leopard print pencil skirt with ruffles at the bottom, and a pair of brothel creepers, all of which i've been looking for. best of all, they were free. i love having parents who own a vintage/retro clothes store, 'cause even when i offer to pay, they give me things for free. one of the guys shopping there looked really familiar (i can't remember if we met at a show, or school, or on the street or what.) he had rockin' dreads. and we made eyes at each other a couple times. then i went a block away to a different store and brought in a couple pairs of shoes to trade in for some store credit, and i ended up buying a black skirt/slip with a rose pattern sewn into the lace and a reverend horton heat concert t.
next thing i need to find is a bullet belt, and not one of the lame-o kinds that they sell at hot topic (lame), but a real one. i found a site where i can find a good quality one for around $30.00 (including shipping), which i find to be ridiculously spendy, but since bullet belts are wicked cool i'm willing to shell out the big bucks for one.
tomorrow is chore day.... boooo! dishe scrubbing, leaf raking, room cleaning, homework doing. fun, fun, fun. NOT.
