You guys don't even know. You don't even know.

Basically, it would make doing art on the computer so much easier... I don't like using a mouse for things like that and I want to get more practice with digital media before art school. I know a few people who have tablets irl, and also have a lot of friends on Deviant Art that are lucky enough to own one. Ok, so we've established I want a tablet. (I'm thinking a Wacom as they're the most popular and I've had the chance to use one before. The interface was good and at least I'll know what to expect.) Then what's the issue, right?

The issue: money. Seriously. These things are so expensive; I have no job, and I can't get a job until I get a car. But guess what, I can't afford a car unless I got a job. It's a ridiculous predicament and I'm a tad discouraged at the moment. However, I'm going to attempt to overcome the insurmountable feet of saving up enough money to buy my precious, (er.... I mean my tablet.)

Here's the model I'm considering:

The Bamboo Fun: This is an obvious choice because I don't do this professionally and the Bamboo Fun is both functional and affordable. I would most likely go with the Medium size ($199 not including shipping) as I have a feeling I would quickly outgrow the small and crave more room. It's 11.0" W x 9.3" D x 0.3" H and the actual active screen space is 8.5" W x 5.3" D. It also comes packaged with Adobe Photoshop Elements, Corel Painter, and Nik Color Efex. It includes a 1 year warranty.

The Bamboo Fun is a step up from the Bamboo, and I think it would benefit me in the long run. I'm trying to become adequate at as many different mediums as I can, and digital mediums should not be ignored. If I was rich I would definitely get the Cintiq 12WX though.
