Two Perfect Days
Day One:
On Sunday July the 8th I hopped a flight out to Omaha, NE to meet several of my gaian friends and most importantly my love James for the first time face to face.
I arrived about 4pm and the moment James came around the car and hugged me (wonderful way to be greeted) the butterflies that had been partying in my middle since take off went still. We loaded my bags into the trunk and once in the car I was introduced to his delightful and friendly mother Sharon who was driving. Sitting in the back seat together we held hands on the way to his house (If I could hold his hands forever I'd be happy).
I got to see his room from whence he has communicated with me so often and when I gave him a small painted picture complete with ribbon for hanging he promptly added it to his wall (that made me feel good). I also got to handle his sword collection and let me just say that the true size and weight of Sephiroth's sword Masamune cannot be described in numbers it must be seen and if possible lifted (not an easy task) to truly understand.
At dinner along with his Father Rick (Did i remember his name right love? sweatdrop ) (a genial intelligent and mildly intimidating gentleman), his older brother Alex? (non verbal fellow who made no particular impression favorable or negative), and his Mom (wonderful cook) we enjoyed the best ribs I've ever tasted followed by homemade peach cobbler (Can you say yummm!). Dinner was accompanied by the adorable loving gray cat named Whisper who managed with easy to earn parts of dinner and desert, lol.
Upstairs once more I had the opportunity to talk o one of my loves best friends online in the game FF XI (which I will never make any attempt to play, just watching made me dizzy). She was fun to chat with even though James was reading over my shoulder about 95% of the time. With her help we managed to guilt trip James into turning off his games and playing cards with me. We had fun playing a couple hands of speed and then I taught him how to play Gin Rummy, I think the score it 13 to 10 right now. We played until midnight at which point his dad called our attention to the clock and James drove me to the Super 8 I was staying at and dropped me off with a parting hug till tomorrow (ooooooooooo whee I love his hugs, he is just the right height and size for me to snuggle against and I feel so safe and happy when he is holding me).
Day Two:
In the morning I failed to get up early enough for the full continental breakfast and barely managed to snag a waffle. However I can guarantee you that once James came to pick me up I was too busy smiling like a fool again to notice something trifling like food or lack there of.
We had some time spend before going to pick up our friends so we stowed away at one of the Wal-mart cafe tables and played more Gin Rummy.
The reason I choose to find my way out there right now instead of at some future point in time is that my sis Kaegoe aka Dawn was going to be stopping in Omaha for about half a day to see old friends before catching a plane to start her new life in Pennsylvania.
Anyway, we went to pick up Mizu aka Bobby, and younger brother Dragon aka Steve so that they could go with us to the airport to pick up Dawn. Mizu got glomped by me the moment she set foot outside her house and lost the sucker she was holding to the dirt (like she needed more sugar, lol).
We got lost on the way to the airport and I got blamed because I tried to use mapquest to help us out and before that could work correctly with such a flawed translator as me we literally stumbled across big green signs saying this way to airport. It was a blast when we picked Dawn up because she had no idea that I was coming out and going to be there, that was one sweet surprise.
Next stop was the fabulous Zoo where we got to see lots of animals and acted like escapees ourselves. We had the delightful company of 4-5 other gaian fiends that I do not know as well and won't be listing right now but they are all wonderful and wacky just like me so we got along fine. Something I enjoyed as much as the animals and if I'm being honest probably more even than the lovely animals was that I got to see it all in the company of my love and hold his hand as we strolled through the exhibits.
We spent about 4hrs at the Zoo and when we dispersed we took Dragon home and dropped him off (his choice not ours) and then James, Mizu, Dawn, and I proceeded to eat ice cream at DQ, while playing may rounds of BS, and killing time until the 8:45pm showing of Pirates of the Caribbean 3.
About this time as the movie played I started to feel melancholy because of the rapidly approaching departure from my love. The film was every bit as good the second time and it was fun listening to Dawn and Mizu react since it was they're first time seeing it.
By the time we got Mizu home and Dawn and I were being dropped of at her hotel (a Super 8 closer to the airport) it was around 1am. With a parting hug from James and a valiant/barely successful effort not to start crying in front of my love I said good bye for now and went to spend a few more hours with my sis. We both had 6/6:30am flights so we never actually got to sleep and left for the airport on the shuttle as close to 4am as we could manage.
Now I'm back in IL attempting to chronicle the last two perfect days while still running on the 6ish hours of sleep I got Sunday night, and still stay awake at my desk at work. Anyway I'm going to stop typing this now hope you enjoyed the read, lol. If not I don't really care I just had to make sure I didn't forget my two perfect days. Till late, lol.
