“Wow, Lexi! You look gorgeous!” Roxi and Ian looked on as she stepped from behind the bedroom door. Dressed in a crimson evening gown with a split up to her hip, the pure white cat pulled her golden hair into a complicated twist and fluttered he sultry cerulean eyes at them. Lexi ran ten polished fingernails over the glittery material, smoothing out the wrinkles. “Well, I’ve got to go. I’ll be late if I don’t.” With best wishes from Ian and Roxi, Lexi stepped out into the city to meet her latest gentleman. “So,” Ian began,” what are we to do in this rundown apartment while she’s out and about?” “Horror movie marathon?” Roxi’s violently violet eyes looked up at him from beneath jet black bangs tipped with indigo. His own yellow, greenish eyes took in every bit of her. From the tips of her baby blue ears to the soles of her shiny combat boots. There was just something about her that took his breath. She wasn’t movie star beautiful like Lexi, but there was definitely something. By the time Lexi returned from the date, mascara running angrily down her cheeks, the horror movies had dwindled all the way down to the last one and even Roxi, had fallen asleep in a dozing Ian’s lap. A soft smile found its way to Lexi’s lips. “At least you two had fun,” she whispered as she clicked off the television. Her gentle hands slipped off the boots Roxi still wore and pulled the cover up to her chin. Then, as she tugged on the blanket keeping Ian warm, his soft breath rolled across her blushing face. She was so close… if only… but no. ‘Love has to be a mutual thing.’ Looking back on tonight, she found all the proof she needed to confirm it. Roxi awoke to the sounds and smells of breakfast. ‘Ian’s cooking.’ the low humming of “Iris” made it known to her before she even saw the sunshine through the dusty window. If he was making eggs, which is what her feline nose told her, she’d have just enough time to change her clothes and eat before leaving. The teenager returned just as he was putting the food on the table in her favorite flared skirt, black of course, with a matching sleeveless tee and arm warmers. The white-winged heart on her chest reminded Ian of the day he gave it to her. It was her birthday, Valentine’s Day of last year, when they’d taken a trip to Ellis Island and he’d won it for her at a ring-toss. They scarfed down the remains of breakfast and managed to catch the last subway headed to their high school. ‘Just my luck.’ Roxi sighed as she took the only open seat in the chemistry class. Right next to the team’s star quarterback. She spent the entire first hour of her day defiantly ignoring the lame pick-up lines he was trying to use on her. All she found them to be was annoying. Until he followed her to her locker. Then, they began to piss her off. “Get lost!” Roxi commanded him as she began to exchange her class books. Being the fool that he was, Hal tried once more. “Come on, shweetheart, we both know you want me.” Hal tried to discretely wrap his arm around her waist. “In fact, I’ve got a nice little place down town-” he suddenly found his Siamese paw, inches away from his goal, in the midnight colored death grip of Ian’s claws. “She said, leave off.” Ian hissed at him and, as Roxi slammed the metal door, flung his arm away as if it was burning him just to touch it. “consider this a warning.” As the two started down the crowded hall, Hal spied Ian resting his furry hand on her bare shoulder and he just lost it. Clang! Ian’s lip ring met the sapphire stone set in the center of Hal’s gold-plated class ring in a surprise attack against Roxi’s defender. Ian barely managed to dodge the next one, but landed a right hook to Hal’s face before being thrown into the paws of the quarterback’s cronies. While he struggled to escape, Hal swaggered over to where Roxi stood in the ring of students that had formed during the short duration of the fight. “Life’s a game of winner take all, baby. Let me show you what being a winner’s all about.” Roxi silently thanked god for the shoes she was wearing as her heel collided painfully with his toes. The barrage continued as her knee became acquainted with first his “sensitive spot” and then his jaw bone, and as he lay doubled over on the floor she reminded Hal that she was a prize that couldn’t be won. His spat out one of his pearly teeth in reply. “Roxi, Ian, Hal!” the principle broke through the crowd. “I want you in my office ten seconds ago.” He rounded oh the other students. “And the rest of you, get to class!” Sitting comfortably in one of the chintz armchairs of the room, with Ian standing guard behind her, Roxi was given a chance to explain. “Principle Wurthers, do you remember when you had to open my locker this morning?” he listened as both Ian and Roxi told the same story. Then, Hal’s turn came. Hal took the route that he knew would make him look innocent, although he was clearly guilty. He claimed to have been provoked. The principle had known that Hal was after Roxi for a while, and when Hal explained what seeing Ian put his arm around her had done to him, Wurthers sympathized. Hal won the “case” and Roxi and Ian were expelled. Effective immediately. “Well, since we’re out of school a week early,” a mischievous grin lit up the deep eyes of the sixteen year old, ”What say we hit up Juicy’s and blast out a few songs?” There was no way Ian could defy her. His heart took over his brain every time she made that face. “Race you to the Metro!”

Nobody's Home lyrics
I couldn't tell you why she felt that way, She felt it everyday. And I couldn't help her, I just watched her make the same mistakes again.
What's wrong, what's wrong now? Too many, too many problems. Don't know where she belongs, where she belongs. She wants to go home, but nobody's home. It's where she lies, broken inside. With no place to go, no place to go to dry her eyes. Broken inside.
Open your eyes and look outside, find the reasons why. You've been rejected, and now you can't find what you left behind. Be strong, be strong now. Too many, too many problems. Don't know where she belongs, where she belongs. She wants to go home, but nobody's home. It's where she lies, broken inside. With no place to go, no place to go to dry her eyes. Broken inside.
Her feelings she hides. Her dreams she can't find. She's losing her mind. She's fallen behind. She can't find her place. She's losing her faith. She's fallen from grace. She's all over the place. Yeah,oh
She wants to go home, but nobody's home. It's where she lies, broken inside. With no place to go, no place to go to dry her eyes. Broken inside.
She's lost inside, lost inside...oh oh She's lost inside, lost inside...oh oh yeah

i'm sorry.
I watched the proverbial sunrise coming up over the Pacific and you might think I'm losing my mind, but I will shy away from the specifics...
'cause I don't want you to know where I am 'cause then you'll see my heart in the saddest state it's ever been.
This is no place to try and live my life.
[Pre-Chorus] Stop right there. That's exactly where I lost it. See that line. Well I never should have crossed it. Stop right there. Well I never should have said that it's the very moment that I wish that I could take back.
[Chorus] I'm sorry for the person I became. I'm sorry that it took so long for me to change. I'm ready to try and never become that way again 'cause who I am hates who I've been. Who I am hates who I've been.
I talk to absolutely no one. Couldn't keep to myself enough. And the things bottled inside have finally begun to create so much pressure that I?ll soon blow up.
I heard the reverberating footsteps sinking up to the beating of my heart, and I was positive that unless I got myself together, I would watch me fall apart.
And I can?t let that happen again ?cause then you?ll see my heart in the saddest state it?s ever been.
This is no place to try and live my life.
[Pre-Chorus x2] [Chorus]
Who I am hates who I've been and who I am won?t take the second chance you gave me. Who I am hates who I?ve been ?cause who I?ve been only ever made me...
So sorry for the person I became. So sorry that it took so long for me to change. I?m ready to try and never become that way again ?cause who I am hates who I?ve been. Who I am hates who I?ve been.
i wish i was someone else.
Pink Don't Let Me Get Me
Never win first place, I don't support the team I can't take direction, and my socks are never clean Teachers dated me, my parents hated me I was always in a fight cuz I can't do nothin' right
Everyday I fight a war against the mirror I can't take the person starin' back at me I'm a hazard to myself Don't let me get me I'm my own worst enemy Its bad when you annoy yourself So irritating Don't wanna be my friend no more I wanna be somebody else
I wanna be somebody else, yeah
LA told me, "You'll be a pop star, All you have to change is everything you are." Tired of being compared to damn Britney Spears She's so pretty, that just ain't me
Doctor, doctor won't you please prescribe somethin A day in the life of someone else? Cuz I'm a hazard to myself
Don't let me get me I'm my own worst enemy Its bad when you annoy yourself So irritating Don't wanna be my friend no more I wanna be somebody else
Don't let me get me I'm my own worst enemy Its bad when you annoy yourself So irritating Don't wanna be my friend no more I wanna be somebody else
Doctor, doctor won't you please prescribe somethin A day in the life of someone else? Don't let me get me
Don't let me get me I'm my own worst enemy Its bad when you annoy yourself So irritating Don't wanna be my friend no more I wanna be somebody else
