...it is here! Finally! While in New York, my boyfriend Z and I (he came to visit me there) obtained a a precious thing in a small Korean comic book store- a copy of the all-new live action adaptation of the Deathnote manga.
I have been a fan of this series for several years already, and cosplayed Misa-chan in the first convention I went to. What a dork you say? Well, I've ignored you. Deathnote is an incredibly well-drawn series, and boasts a plot line with no holes, and few loose ends. The characters are cryptic and unpredictable, and the series shines amidst an era where graphic novels are repeated panels and paper-thin people. If you read only one series before you grow up and 'kill' your inner child, let it be this one.
My new multimedia is the live action's trailer, but I've also recently found that there is an anime out, just not yet translated. The dvd Z and I acquired is in Japanese, with english subtitles. I prefer them that way anyhow. ^_~
Also, I was ecstatic to find out that the lead character of Kiro is played by the same kid who was Shyuuin in Battle Royale. He's a very competent actor (dunno his name), and he portrays the troubled youth type very well. I applaud the casting director!! Go and SEE this movie, or the anime, or read the novels! They are drawn by the same artist who drew Hikaru no Go!
Now that I've proved to you all what a dweeb I can be, go see it!! heart
