The Girl With The Little Black Book and A Little Black Box
It was a day like this day now. There I sat in a local diner like the one a few miles away from you. That is where I saw her. I looked across the street and I saw a house. It was a broken home, both physically and mentally, so to speak. The house was a faded gray one-story building. The windows were either broken, had dirty curtains in them or not there at all. Most of the shudders were either crooked, broken, or not they’re at all. None of the lights in the house were on. Except, the right hand corner window. I looked in the window and saw her. She looked as if she did not belong in that house. She was clean and neat. She was not a little girl or a woman. She was no more than 15 but no less than 13. She was dressed in a long black lace and satin dress. Her long velvet black hair was up in curls. And she had a few strands of curls hanging down in the back and three or four on the front. They looked as if they were trying to hide her face, but what for? Her skin was fair and pale. She had put rouge upon her cheekbones and what looked like dark eyeliner on her entire eyelid. As is she was hiding something. Full lips were painted red, like blood. Some of her mascara was running down her face, she was crying. She turned and walked straight to the window after what looked like slamming the door rather hard and violently. She looked down at a cat crossing the rather busy street. She watched it prance its way across to the other side and it then finally making it safely to the opposite side. That’s when I saw why her part of hair was draped over her eyes. That’s why she had worn so much eyeliner. There, on her left eye was a bruise. It took away much beauty from her face. Her eyes were a gray blue but they glowed. She tried to cover it with eyeliner. She tried to cover it with hair. Theses attempts were all in vain. She walked away from the window. I saw her sit in a chair at a desk. She wrote something down in a book. It was a little black leather bound book. She wrote fast, tears falling down her face. She wrote aggressively. She suddenly stopped and put her head in her hands. Her shoulders bobbed up and down, she was crying hard now. She collapsed on to her desk and slammed her fist on the desk. I watched her sit there and cry and suffer like this for what seemed like ages. She then got up and threw her chair across her room. She collapsed onto the floor and crawled her way over to her bed and reached under her bed. She pulled out box. It was little. It was black. She sat on her bed holding the box to her heart, crying. She took it between her thumb and her middle finger. She twirled it with her forefinger. Around and around went the box. She twirled and twirled, occasionally changing the boxes direction. Wondering what was in the box, I sat there. What dark secrets lie inside the box? Will I ever know? Will you ever know? Longing to know what it is I sat there. She would open the box and snap it shut just as quick. I tried to see what was in it, but she was too quick! Suddenly she stopped. All was still, like time itself had stopped. And she got up and threw the box across the room so fast and hard! She burst into tears and went to her closet and pulled out her black-laced trench coat. She put it on and she stormed out of her room, into the hall and out of the house. She walked down the street in tears. I watched as she flagged down and got into a taxi. What had made her cry? Who had bruised her? Where’d she come from and where will she go? What was in that box? What was it’s secret? Will I ever know? Will you ever know? No, I don’t think so…

Cupid's Mistake
It was his mistake. I just suffer for it. He is the one who forgot to aim, when he shot at me that night. And now I ache with pain. Now I fear with fright. Oh Cupid! you stupid angel! How could you miss my heart? I'm doomed to die, a lonely , painful life. Just know one thing, before I die, I'll take your wings, you'll never fly. I'll see them burn , in the flames of Hell! I hate you, I hate love! Oh can't you tell? I'll steal your bow, burn it to ashes, and when I die, I'll have them thrown over my grave! I'll snap every arrow. I'll watch you go insane! Now Cupid. Oh dearest Cupid. Come back to me in flight. Come back to me tonight. Come back! Come back! Come back and fix it right!
