My is Lilith; I’ve lived in a small town with my mother, Christa, and brother, Eric, ever since I was born. I just turn 20 and I’m finally on my own. My friend, Alli, said that she was moving into a house of her own and offered to let me live with her, little did I know her house was dead center of the creepy Westminster Cemetery. I had everything in boxes and ready to go to the new house and my mom was crying and hugging me every second telling me how I “grew up so fast” and how “her baby was going away”. Of course I just laughed, and smiled and continued loading my boxes into the scion xB I got for graduation.
I was all packed and ready to go; my mother hugged me one more time and pecked the top of my head with a kiss. I jumped into my car and put the key into the ignition and started my car up and told my mom I would text her as soon as I was there. I pulled out of the drive way after setting the new address into my GPS and started heading to my friend’s new house.
I kind of thought to myself as I was driving the radio lay in the back ground of my thoughts and the GPS gawking at me and telling me what to do. I wondered what this new house was like and what kind of neighborhood it would be and if the neighbors were a** hats. I shrugged off the negative haunting thoughts and kept driving, a little faster then the speed limit, I was pretty excited. When I saw the GPS telling me to turn onto a road into the Westminster Cemetery I thought it was broken but then I noticed there was an old Victorian styled house on a hill in the middle. I kind of laughed and turned on my left turning signal and turned onto the road; I kept driving up the road and I saw Alli unlocking the front door and had carried some boxes into the house. I kept staring at the house in awe it was like something you’d see in a horror movie. I parked in the driveway of the odd house and put my car in park staring at the house. It took me awhile to take it in then I hopped out of my car walking up onto the porch and crossed the thresh hold of the front door and screamed, “Alli! I’m here!” Alli quickly ran down the steps and hugged me tightly.
“Lil, isn’t it wonderful?!”
“A cemetery, I imagined a cute small house in a neighborhood filled with annoying children not-“
“Corpsey, dead people?”
“Yes”
Alli laughed, “I got my job as a mortician I’m also running a funeral home here in our very own house.”
“You couldn’t tell me this before I came to live here?” I laughed a bit, “So where’s my room? Is it nice?”
“Of course it’s nice!” Alli grabbed my wrist and pulled me up stairs to my room. I looked around it was big, much bigger then my old room at home and the ceiling was crazily high it made the queen sized bed look like a twin. I looked at Alli who was fluffing up the red satin curtains and opening up the two windows. “So you like it? I can help you unpack if you’d like?”
“Holy s**t I’m old... Oh and yes I would like that very much.”
Alli laughed skipping down the hall and attempted to skip down the steps. “Alli you’re going to break your neck if you keep trying to skip up and down steps.”
“Nah,” Alli walked to my car and opened the back some of the boxes pouncing on her. I quickly went to help her then managed to grab three boxes and carried them up to my new room.
It took us about 30 minutes to get everything up stairs; I thanked Alli and let her continue with her business and I started to get my stuff out of the boxes and moved around my furniture to where I felt comfortable. I looked up at the ceiling and said, “Damn you’re ridiculous.”
Alli popped in the door way and asked, “Who ya taking to?” I jumped and laughed and manage to point up which made her laugh also, “I thought that too. But yeah I’m going to order pizza you want your usual just cheese?”
I replied with a nod.
