I decided yesterday after the work day, to make my cat a sweater! So I grabbed a sweater I bought her in the store last year, and studied it's stitch count and patterns. I'm still pretty new to Knitting so the pattern of Cable knots was TOTALY out of the question. instead I made the waist band out of pure knit stitches. The body area out of stockinette stitch and the Neck line out of Ribbing stitches.. Came out pretty stylish since it's also made out of tie-dyed yarn! And she was happy to wear it for some photos ^-^.
Next up for tomorrow, Rat Sweaters! Whether they will keep them out or slink out of them is their choice though... Sometimes they don't like clothing O-O... Seriously!
So nyeah, I'll be posting a new picture in the space where all my animals are in the profile. See ya's then.
Although... If this shows on my profile I'll just paste it to the space below <3.. Brb
Oh btw, I had fun making it so if you want one for your cat or dog, or rat and hamster. It's basically the same statistics aside from more stitches. And their 20$ each, just drop me a line if you'd like one. The medium cat sweater took 8 hours total to create. And if you knit, heres the pattern instructions!
.:Instructions for Mitsy Knitties Sweaters:. Size Needle: 7mm Yarn: One scane of tie-dye worsed waight number 4 by "Big heart" brand. Glue gun of 150 or less Temp is optional.
Total Asstimated time to create: 8 hours 23 mins. Starting number: 33 Ending number : 38 Stitch skills needed:
You have to be a beginner heading into intermediate, or some of these might be boring for you advanced people of the needles XD! And you have to know how to Cast on, Cast off, Knit stitch, Purl Stitch, Stockenet stitch, Rib stitch and double rib stich.
"You can also make this with a Size G Crochet hook, just replace Knit with "Chain one".
Abbreviations: K *Knit Stitch* K1 *Knit one* K2 *Knit two* K4 *Knit four* K5 *Knit five* P *Purl Stitch* Pr1*Purl one* Pr2*Purl two* P3 *Purl Three* P5 *Purl five* C N*Cast on* C O*Cast off* SW *Sew with needle* Step one C O 33 stitches First row: K all the stitches. Second row: Repeat Do the first row second row for nine rows total.
Step two Tenth row: Starting from the right, K acrossed the edge. Eleventh row: P acrossed. Repeat 10 and 11 for 22 more rows. If you only knew Knit and Purl, Congratulations, stacking them in this way makes the know " Stochenet stitch". This can help you make more allaborate Stitches later.
Tip: Ending the rows on a knit will make the right side, Purl will make the left side mirror your sides easier and more accuretly.
Step Three Row 32: C N two, then K the rest of the row Row 33: P Acrossed Row 34: C N three more, and repeat pattern without casting on anymore for 4 rows.
Step Four Row 38: K5 C O three. K the rest of the way. Row 39 razz r the next row with string loose at the C O so the hole for the arms are left somewhat open, these will be knotted off later. Row 40: K4 in the following row, then C O two, hold loosly. Then C O two more and K the rest of the way. Continue the stockenet stitch for 11 rows, don't forget to keep it loose around the arms to have yarn you can tie together and open the sleaves with.
Step five Row 51:K4, C N two, loosly hold yarn, and C N two more. K the rest of the way. Row 52: Pr the next row while continueing to loosely Pr the area between C N's. Pr the rest of the row. Row 53: K5, then C N all three again, hold tighly and K the rest of the way. Row 54 razz r the whole thing. Row 55: K the path acrossed. Row 56: Pr Acrossed. Row 57: K the row. This will cut the sleave off for a cat with a 6 inch round arm.
Step six Row 58: Pr sixteen and C O the next two. Pr the rest of the row. Row 59: K the row up to seventeen, cast off two more. K the rest of the way. Row 60: Pr Accrossed. Row 61: K acrossed. Row 62: Pr acrossed. This makes the space needed for a Medium cats shoulder blades to not chafe in the Sweater.
Step seven Row 63: K1, and C O, K2, Pr1, K2, Pr1 the rest of the way. Row 64: K1, P2, K1,P2 on the following row, and C O the final two Stitches. Row 65: C O the first two. K2, Pr1, K2, Pr1, K2 on this row. Row 66: K1, Pr2, K1, Pr2 acrossed. Row 67: Using the Repeating stitches of Pr1,K2,Pr1,K2. Cast off as you go through each stitch. This will finish your Ribbing and double ribbing, and also allow you to finish your Right side. Reverse the stitches to the oposing durection for it to mirror into the Left side of this Sweater.
Step Eight Cut the strings along the sleave two at a time, and tie the end of the two rows together on each side. To make it more stronger for Fiesty Dogs or Cats, Hot glue the knots in place with the tails so they wont fray and Pull out your stitches. You might also want to do this to your cast on area and cast offs.
Step Nine Cut a 34 inch piece of yarn, and place the halfs wrong sides facing out. Thread a needle with the Yarn and string it through the bottom corner of the chest seam, make a knot and dab with Hot glue if needed. After this, wip stitch around the chains made by your Knitting. And Tie off at the upper corner near your first set of C O's. Cut and Glue with a gun if needed.
Step Ten Use the yarn left to thread the bottom corners of the Sweater still with wrong sides out, and Wip Stitch acrossed the chains as you did on the Chest seam. Tie off at the top corner and cut off, glue again if needed.
Turn the Sweater inside out and lightly pull the chest and back seams away from eachother to line the Wip Stiches up, and flatten the seams.
Your Mitsy Knitties Sweater is now finished! Place over the head of your Medium Dog or Cat. Heck even a Honey bear or Large Chinchilla can wear this! And fold their arms in a resting possition till the sleave holes are over their paws, let them straiten their arms through the holes and snugly stug it back abit for a compleat fit.
Now your pet can walk around the house or town proclaiming they are the most pampered and beloved pet of * So and so town in a so an so city* and you can proudly look at it saying " If anybody says I don't take care of you, be sure to jump on themz >3!"
