The birth of a Empress.
A scream is heard off in the distance as a woman feels the fist pang of her
child being born. A man stands on a hill over looking the ocean
surrounded by flames as his wife begins to die.
They knew the consequences of their choice. Thousands of years they
had reigned over their empire. Wars had been fought. Dynasty's had been
demolished. Over it all their love remained strong as the day they had first
met. Till she decided it was time they passed on their powerful blood line.
The Demon King could not bear to watch his wife die in birth. He had
walked the path to the hill everyday since she told him she was carrying
their child and heir. Hands hanging by his sides, shoulders sunk in defeat
he could only stare out at the intense waves smashing against the rocks
below.
In the castle up on the highest cliff surrounded by flying demons the
Queen screamed in pain as the child within her attempted to claw its way
out of her body. The child had slowly sucked the life force from her as it
had grown all those months in her womb. She had known what it meant
for their kind to produce a child. The mother must die to give all her life
force to the child growing inside to live. As was the way of their kind.
The most feared of all their kind. Fire Demons. More so the ones who
could control black fire. Few of them remained in the land. Fewer still were
the females. Less and less were being born to their kind. No one wanted
to make the sacrifice it took to have a demon child of their kind. Her hand
moving to her stomach she began to hum a soft lullaby to the child
inside her. She had sung the lullaby to it since the day she felt its small
flame burst to life inside her.
"Little demon, life of mine, of fire born, and in fire die, soon to be stronger
then all alive, calm thyself inside of me. Soon you'll be my gift to all, a
creature strong and brave. To this world a demon born, black fire bearer,
eyes of light. Never lose your will to fight. My little fire demon...."
With a screeching shriek of pain the demon child began ripping its way
out of her. A small ball of black flame emerging through the tear in her
demon flesh. The maids beside her stood silent as there was nothing they
could do to stop the birth. It was either kill the child or die themselves.
Watching as their Queen died in front of them. Red tears staining their
cheeks as they awaited the birth of the heir. The Queen herself cried as
she watched the very creature she was giving her life to ripped her open.
Their kind forever fighting. Even to be born was a battle.
"Come little one....come and....set the world....aflame...." Her blood oozing
out onto the bed she watched with the life fading from her eyes and the
small ball of black fire swirled its way into the air. Slowly lifting her hand
up to it the Queen smiled for she was able to see the daughter she had
known she would have. "My....Rin....."
Breaking down the door the King flew into the room only to see his
Queen fading away. Falling to his knees in anguish at her side his head
laying on her chilled shoulder he cried silently. Raising his head the
watched as the small ball floated over and curled itself on her mothers
chest trying to warm them both. Placing his hand on the small demon
child's he smiled softly. Letting his black fire free to consume the three of
them, they all watched as the Queen took her last breath. Each of her
hands holding the ones she loved. Her body bursting to flame, then ash
and swirling away with the wind as it swept through the room.
A cold hearted man walked into the room as the Queen took
her last breath. His eyes black as the darkness that welled inside his
demon heart. Watching as the one he had hated for so long cried in
misery he could barely contain his joy. His brother the King had been the
biggest problem since their birth. Twin sons to the most powerful fire
demons even known. Always the stronger of the two his brother had
obtained the greatest power ever. That of the Queen. Clenching his fists
in fury at having been unable to take control of her power he had hid in
the shadows for years. Growing more evil with the passing of decades.
Now he stood watching as a female child was born with black fire as her
power. She would be more powerful then her mother. Smiling darkly he
faded back into the shadows leaving a dark crystal on a black necklace
wrapped in a small box as a present for the girl.
Standing the King picked up the small ball of flame and placed it upon a
crystal like chamber. Drawing a dagger and slicing his finger open he
drew symbols upon the crystal casting protection spells to keep the child
safe. Placing both hands on each side of it the King used his fire to warm
the crystal like chamber. Staring at the little demon child he could only
cry, knowing his wife had wanted her more then her own life. Looking up
he watched as a maid carried over the gift and hesitated a few feet away.
"I see my brother made himself known. What did she call the child? I
heard her voice....." He took gift and placed it with the rest. He would let
his daughter open them herself when she was old enough.
"The...the Queen...she called her Rin sire. Her Rin...." The maid burst into
tears and raced out the room. Unable to watch any longer.
"Rin..." He sighed deeply and nodded. It was what she had said before.
The name she had been told a century ago and had told him. "You are our
Rinceoir Tine then. My little fire dancer." Kneeling beside the crystal
chamber he sighed deeply. Hearing the cries of his empire at the loss of
their Queen.
~!~Here ends this tale dear child. For you will forever be just that to me. I
your real father wrote this so you would one day know the truth. Even
now my twin brother seeks my death. I have sent you away so that one
day you will find him and kill him. Know that you were loved from birth.
Now you know the truth as why you can never have children. This
Empire we worked so diligently to create needs their daughter of black
fire. My younger brothers, your uncles who I am sending you to, will
train you and keep you safe. Farewell...my little Rin...~!~
