I still think I would've preferred my first read to be a
read rather than a listen, but I don't think it was a bad first choice of audiobook. Now I'm curious if the same narrator did
Howl's Moving Castle; my library doesn't have that audiobook, but they'll notify me if they ever have it in. I think
Howl is still the strongest one in the series, and I kept thinking, maybe this one should've been from Sophie's POV again. Still, I liked Charmaine, even if her story wasn't as tightly woven as Sophie's.

I'm already elbow-deep in T. Kingfisher's Clocktaur Wars series. Wasn't a fan at first bite, felt a little
too ironic...? Which seems odd since I've just come off this book and
The Princess Bride before it, both varying degrees of ironic/satirical-towards-fantasy. I've come around a bit during
Clockwork Boys. Going to carefully toe my way forward. 'Til next time
