1-The Dream
“Alexis!”
I could hear my name being called. The voice sounded familiar but I just couldn’t put my finger on whose voice it was.
“Alexis? Are you coming?”
Coming? Coming where? Where am I even?
“Hurry!”
I took a glance around at my surroundings. Nothing. Nothing was all that I could see. I was in a very pitch-black room by myself.
Where am I?
“Alexis!”
I jumped. I heard the voice again but this time it was so loud and sudden, I was startled. The voice, though, once said loud was now more clear.
“Siam?” I called out.
That voice…of course! It’s Siam calling me!
I moved forward and repeatedly called out my best friend’s name.
“Siam!” I yelled again. “Siam, where are you?”
I stopped walking when a bright light shone down in front of me, like a spot light. There was something in the middle of the light. It was tall, about as tall as me: five-foot-nine. I took a few steps closer to realize that it was a staff. The pole of the staff was thin and all black. At the bottom of the pole, it had one very thin, gold stripe and on the stripe was a small, pink heart.
At the top of the staff were two, unfilled, pink hearts that crossed through each other. In the middle of the hearts was a small ruby colored jewel that was shinning brightly. And at the base of the hearts on the pole was a very long, shimmering ribbon tied to it.
Wow, what’s this doing here?
Right as I was going to go even closer to the staff, I heard Siam call me again.
“Alexis! What do you think you are doing?!”
Siam sounded like she was right behind me so I swung around. Sure enough, Siam was behind me, only she was tied to a tree.
Siam!
I ran up to her.
“Siam, how did you..”
I stopped when I felt someone put their hand on my right shoulder. I turn my head to see this tall guy standing behind me now.
The guy looked to be about my age: 17. He had mid-back length black hair and golden yellow eyes. He wore a tan colored tank-top but the straps were thick and ragged and his shirt almost looked like a kimono top. And he wore black samurai pants and wooden sandals. He was also pretty muscular looking too. But there was something odd about him though; he had dog ears on top of his head.
What the-?
The guy shook his head.
“You have to choose the staff, Alexis,” he said.
Huh?
When he spoke, he showed sharp fangs in his mouth.
“What are you talking about?” I said.
“Lexy! You wouldn’t dare choose a stick over me, would you?” Siam yelled.
I looked back at her.
“Siam, I don’t even know what the heck is going on here!” I said frantically.
“Alexis.”
I turn back to the dog guy.
“Lexy!”
The guy and Siam were throwing my name back and forth between themselves.
Agh! Stop it!
Suddenly there was a loud thunder clap and I flinched. I look to my left to where the the noise came from and saw about a seven-foot-tall man with very long white hair and deep blue eyes.
He had blue markings on his face and what looked like yellow eye shadow. His ears were pointed at the tip and elf-like. He wore a long white kimono that had beautiful leaf and vine patterns on it. His sash was thick and a deep black color with strangely shaped stars all over it. He didn’t wear any shoes and I think I saw a sheath with a sword on him.
I looked up at him.
“You must decide,” he roared, “just choose your friend and get out of here!”
When he yelled and white light came and blinded me so that I had to shut my eyes.
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
“Siam!”
I open my eyes and jolt up from lying down and scream. My breathing was heavy so I calmed down. I looked around to notice that I wasn’t in that dark room anymore.
I was in my dorm room
Wha-?
