I finally got a request of something to talk about! (A very good request, and just in time!) Charcoal_Haibane suggested I talk about whether or not it's right for people to focus so much on the fact that Obama is the first black president, rather than seeing him as just another president. I personally don't see why, now that he's been in office for a while, that's such a big deal. I don't see him being a black president as a big deal at all, other than from the standpoint that he is the first African American elected to that office. I mean, yes, when he was first elected, and even on the campain trail, it was a major thing, and from a historical standpoint, it's still a major thing. But now he's the president and it shouldn't matter what color his skin is, as long as he's making good desicions for the country. Isn't THAT why we're supposed to be electing someone as president? Last time I checked, it was, but I guess we're a pretty screwed up country, so maybe skin color does matter. I guess this post is a little late, but it is still relevant because there are, unfortunately, still racist bastards in the world.
I'm everything you think I'm not, ready here to break your heart.
