Alexei/Dawn -- Vulnerable
"Please, Lady Dawn! You've got to come over this instant! It's--! It's--!"
Dawn sighed into the phone at Derik's frantic voice. Never had she heard him sound so panicked. He was always calm, a soft but neutral expression on his youthful face. Maybe it was because of Alexei's presence. The blonde's aura always seemed to have positive effects on everyone he was around. Well, initially, not for Dawn. But ever since her crying fit in the Lee's dining room and him singing to calm her down, he had that effect on her ever since.
"Derik! Calm down and speak slowly! I can't understand anything you're saying," she demanded, a bit miffed. It was a such a nice and warm sunny day, and Alexei's personal butler just had to ruin that day for her.
Through the phone, he could hear him take a few deep breaths, before speaking slowly. "Please, you must come over. Milord... there's something wrong with him. And I don't know what to do with him."
Sick...? Alexei was sick? Dawn blinked.
"Al... right. I'll be there in a few minutes."
And in a few minutes she was. The brunette stood nervously with her in front of the door leading to Alexei's personal bedroom. Never had she gone into it. As far as she knew, it was only Derik who had been inside it. But the butler had kept his lips shut about how it looked like, saying it was up to his Lord to decide if he should tell or not.
"What happened to him?" She turned to Derik and asked calmly.
He gulped and fidgeted with his fingers, looking at the bright white gloves he was wearing.
"Err... To be honest, I don't know. This morning, he asked me to cancel all of his appointments due to the reason he didn't feel all that well. I though it was only fatigue. But when I came back, he was all red and flustered. His skin was scorching hot! I didn't know what to do. So I phoned you, Milady." This he said in such a hurry that she had to strain her ears to manage hearing it.
She placed a gloved hand unto the golden handle of the door, and seeing Derik nod at her from the side, she turned the knob and sauntered in, observing the room with his amethyst eyes.
Hmm... He has some amazing taste.
The room was wallpapered with a pale cream designed with faint, interlacing gold threads, the ceiling complimenting it with the dark cream color it had. On the middle of the square room, there stood a four-poster bed with cream-gold drapes and dark rosewood pillars.
And tucked into those white sheets was Alexei.
Dawn stopped in her tracks, quite surprised by the scene she set her eyes upon.
It was Alexei, alright. However, instead of his usual enigmatic self with that confident stride and posture, the Alexei that was in the bed was completely not the person she knew.
For one, he was curled up into a fetal position, writhing in what seemed to be pain. Golden hair matted his forehead, his eyes closed. He was flustered, his cheeks dusted a faint pink. And he was panting, each intake of breath shaking his shoulders.
He looks... so different.
Sensing eyes on him, Alexei opened his eyes a fraction, the sliver amber color in them appearing dull and distant.
