Re-reading Necklace of Kisses by Francesca Lia Block and it is making me crave things soft and sweet. Elegant but youthful. I felt the need to create but my sewing machine is broken and SInger sent me the wrong piece. I'm seriously considering just buying a new one. So instead I painted the designs on paper and posted them onto my magnet strip. The book made me crave custard tarts topped with jewel toned fruits, but I have no car and there were no bakeries nearby so I settled for s'mores made with dark chocolate and rasberry preserves smeared on the cracker. I also re-watched Paradise Kiss which made me think thoughts of Fashion Design school again. But really, after I get this certificate in web design I need to chill out and get my Bachelors in business management like I always wanted. Then, when I have a steady income I'm sure I'll continue on to study everything under the sun. There are so many things in the world to learn, why settle on one? I'm not sure I could ever slow down and live my life in a linear fashin. I feel like I could continue on in circles forever. Or could I? I feel like college is too expensive to study something I don't enjoy. But the safety net of a degree intrigues me.

I really want to start making everday ready to wear clothes with sexy and soft silks and fancy lace. I want to wear almost-lingerie on city streets!

Oh, and there are FtMs on this season of the L Word! I'm really glad that they are putting more attention to Max's character.

When I was in high school (hah! it's only been two years) I literally wanted to BE Rory Gilmore. Every time I felt overburdened with exams, competitions, and a billion extracurriculars I thought to myself "Would Rory Gilmore feel overburdened by this? No, she would hold her head up high and make fast paced witty commentary at the same time!" In actuality I think this ended up making me feel worse. It's hard trying to live up to a fictional character. But now that I think about it I'm even more like Rory. She dropped out of Princeton and I left Fordham and the University of Maryland (at separate occasions). We are both flawed. We are both human. Okay, no she's still fictional. I don't know what happens next though. Because when Rory left Princeton I thought she was stupid and I stopped watching the show. Oh well, that's what reruns are for.

Oh, and every time I think "Peter Petrelli is Jess" I ROFL!

I made the awesomest necklace last night! I heart it to pieces. It's hot pink shrink plastic with my name spelled in graffiti.



School is going swimmingly. I adore each of my classes. Some people may think I'm taking a step backwards by changing majors and transferring to a community college from a four year school but you can't spend your life listening to "some people". Plus, I'm studying what I like (Web Design), saving money, and I'm taking half of my classes online (something couldn't do at UMD). That last point is allowing me to spend more time at a job that I love. I really think a career in non-profit management or grant writing is in my future. I can't believe that I've been working at the Collaborative for over a year now! I'm almost done with the documentary project and I'm starting on another new exciting project in partnership with the National Opera. I am quite in love with life right now.
