High on msieur lapin's personal list of 'Things We Can All Do Without' are ingrateful people. I'm talking about the odd person in the Art Freebies subforum who asks for art and don't say thanks in return.
When I'm feeling generous, I scour the subforum looking for people to give my time and effort to, to make art for them to cheer up their day. I like making people happy, that's why I draw art for them. How am I supposed to know that they're happy without the recepient telling me?
You don't have to tip me or give me anything in return. Just tell me if you like it? If you appreciate what I've done for you? I mean, I just spent a couple of hours on this picture to make you happy, why can't you make me happy by saying a few words?
Don't I deserve to be selfish for appraisal after being selfless? It doesn't even have to be all positive. It could be constructive. We could all do without flames though.
I'm not saying I dislike everyone in Art Freebies - if I did I wouldn't continuously return to it. Most people are courteous and do possess manners. It's just that I don't get a reply from the odd person and it bothers me.
Always thank your artist, people. Even if it's a few words, it really means a lot to us and keeps us going.
