I just sort of realised what I was going for when I made my current avatar, a representation of what I currently feel describes me best by using Gaia items as symbols for various traits.
Runthrough:
Pantheracox Agate (Sulking) - Representing my desires for a companion and comfort whenver death becomes a very real thing to me. It sounds emo-ish, but it's really not. I start off thinking about people dying, and then I start imaging it hitting close to home. I imagine what it would be like if my friends died, my aunt/uncle died, my parents, my pets; it puts a burden on my mind with the thought that I will most likely outlive most of these things unless I die of unnatural causes.
Head Bandage (Bloody) - Representing my attempts of comforting myself when above thoughts creep their way into my thought process. These attempts are hit and miss, and eventually fade, shown by the blood being visible, soaking through the bandage. I really can't rebandage it.
Sunglasses - My attempt to be acceptable in a hostile environment. Also probably representing my wish to hide myself away from the world.
Pearl Choker (Used as a collar) - Representing my inability to lead people, or rather my being aware of my inability to lead people and willing to follow rather than lead.
Silver Pocket Watch - Representing my counting down the time until death's sweet embrace to come for me.
Metal Pipe - Representing my passive-aggressive nature.
Superior Form (Cat) - Representing my deep connection with animals.
Demon Imp Plushie (Asleep) - Representing my will to rest when I cannot. Balancing a job on the weekends, school, and other things is hard for me, especially because of my procrastinator - perfectionist nature. It gets tiring, and at times I just want to stop doing anything important and just vegitate.
Langer (Move it Buddy!) - Representing my defensive nature regarding my companions.
Zoot Suit, Glam Trousers, Whiskers, etc... - Mostly for show. :3
