Geez, you leave Gaia alone for a few months, and it mutates even more!
wahmbulance wahmbulance wahmbulance
Although I must say, I like the whaaaaambulance sirens. Very nice touch. The people responsible for the smileys seem to have their fingers on the pulse of Internet discourse. All we need is an owl, and we're set.

...yeah, that's not a very good advertisement, is it? sweatdrop
After a long absence from Gaia (Lots of working, and playing World of Warcraft, and being a lazy bastage) I've come back. And I've realized that I need to make funds. And while I could just sell my AFK and be done with it, I think Kalassin would try and break my legs if I did. gonk
So. Buy an Oekaki, anyone? biggrin

I feel pretty! Oh so pretty! |

Yeah, I've been participating in the Avatar Survival Contest. Lordy, I didn't know I had so many outfits in me. gonk Nor was I aware that I'd end up spending so much money. I'm tempted to have a minor inventory liquidation to make some funds back... but y'know, a lot of the items I bought are pretty spiffy. neutral
Sadly, I was eliminated on the Gaiaversary day. crying A shame, too, because I was really proud of that outfit. I was one of few people who DIDN'T wear a tiny Gaia shirt! I was unique! Was I ugly in my uniqueness? *sob*
Ah well, I survived for a pretty long time. My loss was inevitable. sweatdrop

Anyone out there seen that one Strongbad e-mail when the goodl ol' Compy 386 decided to kick off? Well... I had some Flagrant Errors last night. My computer was over. gonk Very yes.
Out came the screwdrivers, and the spare parts, and the flashlights... and about four hours later, I was sure that the darned thing would never boot again. crying Then I switched out a cable and everything worked fine. gonk Freakin' compy, give me a heart attack like that...
Because of this, my oekaki commissions have been delayed by a day. If I have anything resembling consiousness left when I get home tonight, I'll get cracking on my list.
Oughta get some fishing done, too. Need to catch a bucket that'll give Sephy's a run for her money. xd

...well, yeah. sweatdrop It's hard to use your tablet to make art when the cuuuuutest kitty in the universe just wants to sit on your lap and cuddle.
Let me start from the beginning! I've decided to open up an art shop. You give me money, I give you an avatar picture. Schweet. I've been needing some extra income lately (gotta earn my Fairy Wings back!) and I've also been needing an excuse to draw more. So woo! I finished my first customer's order last night. So proud... whee
Now, to do this, I need to sit at my computer for about 3 or 4 hours with my tablet in my lap. And Gabe (CUTESTKITTEHEVEROMG!) gets jealous of the tablet, I think. So he hops in my lap, and knocks things off my desk, and meows, and does his little beg-bounce, and chases the cursor on my screen... gonk

eek
No, it's not Nakey Day yet. I guess I just feel like... well... I should have more clothing than I actually do? sweatdrop Yeah, yeah, greedy of me.
But seriously, I've been around Gaia a long time, and I'm surprised that I haven't accumulated even MORE crap than I already have. gonk I went through the shops to make my wishlist this year... and I swear, the wishlist was about a mile long. I'm torn between feeling guilty for being so damned greedy, and feeling pathetic because I don't have the stuff to put together a really awesome outfit.
Yar.
Anyway! Moving right along. Yay for SephyGal for getting her devil tail after so long! biggrin Now I'll have to find another thread to spam in my spare time...

The marketplace can bite me. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
As much as I try to think charitable, happy thoughts towards other Gaians, it's difficult. Oh so very difficult. stressed
I like to browse the marketplace to buy cheap store items. Hey, I get a good deal and some other user gets a bit of extra gold! Win-win situation, right? But for some reason, every time I go looking for an item, I can ONLY find people selling it for ABOVE STORE PRICE. Seriously people, WTF?! scream
The rules say not to do that. The rules, people! Really, you can see it on the nice marketplace FAQ they've got posted up! And honestly, how much profit CAN you make by selling back Castaway boots (which cost about, what, 300 gold?) for 500 to gullible users? Wouldn't you feel dirty in the morning? It's WRONG demmit! And hell, it doesn't even work like it used to, because the "do you want to purchase" page LISTS the freakin' store price, anyhow! gonk
Bastages. All of them. I'm about ready to strike out and start flame-PMing some of these business majors, I swear... stare

Proc? I don't like the sound of that... |
|
|
|
|
|
|
So. We've had a merry romp of zombie hunting, and now it's time to sell off the spoils of war. Apparently, there aren't a lot of lab coats! A shame, really, they're a pretty demanded item... but now there's word about "proc" numbers? An indication of how many of a certain item exist? gonk
For one thing, proc makes me think of proctologist, and... uh... well, best not to go there. sweatdrop For another, I think this is just going to result in lots and lots of greedy speculation from here on in. It's something that seems hard to verify, and it could be used to pull the wool over the eyes of the newbies. Which would be bad....
I hope the admins or mods can speak out on this issue. Or, have they already? I'm so poorly read, these days.

...well, I know I certainly fear it. eek
I've been gone from the GEN for so long, that I've gotten off-track on the state of Gaia's economy. I'll try to use today to catch up on what I've missed... but egad, 2004's letters are all over the map, value-wise, compared to 2003's. Strange, isn't it? January, costs a fair bit. February... less than a March! April and May? Don't even think about getting a high price for them. June? Sky high! I just sold one last night for 12k! gonk
I'm wondering, did the glut of users and donations make for such an abundance of old donation items that they CAN actually be judged on individual merit rather than sheer rarity? Food for thought.
