Take my hand Tell me you understand The pain doesn't show but deep down it grows Love me the way only you can Give me the world, silver platter in hand Tell me how beautiful I am Mention how my smile always brightens your day Kiss me softly while praying it will never end Protect me in your arms, strong, soft, warm Don't let it end When you see me sleeping don't make a sound I never want this dream to end

Look she comes to bring us peace See how her wings glow with the light of the heavens Look she is like our mother with her beautiful smile See how her eyes light up with joy when she looks upon our faces Raise your arms up high to welcome her gentle embrace Do not be afraid No harm will come to you today Her touch will ease your pain Don't run away from the wonderous gift that she brings Death is just another game

She closes her eyes In her dreams he treats her like a queen She is his entire world and all the galaxies beyond No one can compare to her sweet touch The rhythm of her curvaceous hips Her smile that can brighten up the worst of days He gives her everything and anything he can't he stores away in promises of one day He loves her with his very soul that bleeds when she is sad For her there is no such answer as "no" only "yes" and "definitely" She loves his style His warm and gentle touch She drinks him in and can never get enough She knows others envy her relationship but she doesn't see He is the only one who occupies her dreams She loves how tender his kisses can be, the feel of his body against her own She doesn't even care about what he can buy, she only wants his time She loves how a simple whisper of three little words can make her smile, make everything alright She loves him more than life itself and will surely love him in the next life as well But then she wakes up He creeps into the room in the dead of the night She turns over to look at the clock She knows where he's been What he does in the middle of the night She has the bruises too, trophies from late night fights So while he takes a shower she silently cries She turns over to reach for air and then hugs his pillow tight He walks over to the bed Lies down next to her and pulls her in tight The tears on her face fade She hates how a smiple whisper of three little words can make her smile, make everything seem alright But she doesn't leave because she's in love with the man in her dreams and prays every night that they will become a reality...

She sits there hugging knees to chest Tears pour down her face Scars all over her arms representing her pain Her pain is hers alone this girl will never know She stands tall with a huge smile on her face Always so full of life she's never depressed because she can easily express Easily express her agony through the words she likes to write The art she creates and signs She wants to leave a mark in this world To be well known and liked Liked by so many but she doesn't see She lives in a dark place and can't break free Break free from the pain that eats away at her soul She takes hold of her joy and shines it forth with the smile she shows every day Every day she wishes more and more that her dreams will come true So far she seems pulled down by a heavy weight Three girls vying for the light of the day Three girls wanting to find a means to escape She bleeds She smiles She writes Three girls have control of my life

"Pray" he says "I can't" is my simple reply so then he asks me "Why?" I shrug my shoulders "I really do know but I can't tell you" "Why?" he asks again "Pray" I say "What?" he's confused "Your answer is always pray" and then I walked away...

Chapter Two: Kari
The thunder storm raged outside as the young girl sat in an abandoned house curled up to keep warm. Tears rolled down her eyes with each crash of thunder and each flash of lightening. The girl looked to be around five years of age. She had dark skin that was covered in dirt, dirty red hair that hung to her waist, a filthy dress that was torn in various places and a green ribbon that was tied to the end of her messy hair and somehow was still in very good condition. The girl continued to cry until exhaustion finally took over and she fell into a restless sleep. As the girl slept she dreamt of another world. A world where the sun never set and there was no pain or despair. In this world she belonged to a family that loved and cherished her. The girl smiled as she ran in the fields with another girl the same age who looked just like her but with much shorter hair. The two girls smiled and laughed as the rolled around in the grass. Suddenly the thunder outside gets much louder and the girl’s dream began to crumble. Dark clouds began to cover the sky and the girl screamed as lightening struck down and the ground began to crumble. She tried to reach for the other girl’s hand but it was too far away. The thunder crashed again and the girl screamed and jumped awake. She breathed heavily as she looked around the abandoned house. The girl heard a creak coming from nearby and she began to back away. “I heard it from this direction,” said a women’s voice. “We should take it slow, whatever it is might be startled by us,” replied a man’s voice. The girl stood up quickly with a terrified expression on her face. “Don’t come any closer,” shouted the girl her voice squeaking with fear. “It’s a girl,” said the woman with surprise. “Don’t worry we won’t hurt you. We just heard someone screaming and wanted to see what was going on.” “Who are you?” asked the girl nervously. “I’m Eclipse, Eclipse Vale and the guy with me is known as master Jigon. I promise we aren’t here to hurt you.” The girl remained quiet for a long moment before finally telling the two strangers her name. “My name’s Kari,” she replied timidly. “Are you ok Kari, are you hurt? We heard a scream coming from this direction.” “It was just a dream,” replied Kari. “Where do you live?” asked Jigon. “All over, I don’t really have a home.” “Then come with me,” said Eclipse suddenly, surprising both Kari and master Jigon. “We’re coming in ok?” Kari nodded her head and the remembered they couldn’t see her. “Ok,” she replied softly. Two bodies walked into the dim light of the room and Kari could make out some of their features. The woman was very beautiful with a tall slightly muscular build and brown skin. She wore light armor over a tunic and pants with black boots and a sword hanging from her waist. Her long silver hair was tied up in a ponytail and her blue eyes while fierce were also very soft and welcoming. The man standing next to her seemed a little rougher in character. He was slightly taller with paler skin and a muscular build. His face was shaven clean to show his youth but his gold eyes showed that he had seen a lot in his few years of life. He wore similar armor as Eclipse and also wore a sword on his waist. His black hair hung loosely around his face and barely touched his shoulders. He smiled at Kari and she immediately felt all her fear disappear. Eclipse began to look the girl over and her eyes lingered longest on the bow at the end of Kari’s hair that was the only thing on her that was not dirty or torn. “That ribbon, when did you get?” asked Eclipse “It has always been there,” replied Kari. “Kirai sleeps in here.” “Kirai?” asked Jigon confused. “Kirai is a djinn of wind. He is my only friend.” “You can control djinn?” asked Eclipse surprised. “Where are you from?” “I don’t really remember,” replied Kari sadly as she looked up to the ceiling. “Can I really come with you?” asked Kari skeptically. “Of course, I’ll take care of you from now on.” “I’m so happy,” replied Kari with a huge smile on her face and then she suddenly fell to the ground startling Eclipse who ran forward to catch. Eclipse held Kari gently in her arms and sighed with relieve when she found that Kari was still breathing. “She’s probably extremely exhausted and who knows what kind of food she’s been living on.” “What will you do with her?” asked Jigon. “Do you really plan on taking her in?” “Of course I do. I should get here back to the inn and clean her up. You should go ahead of me. I’ll report in later if anything else happens.” “Alright,” replied Jigon with a nod of his head. “Just be careful.” Eclipse nodded her head and watched as Jigon disappeared.
Present Day…
Kari woke up with sweat dripping down her face. She got of bed and opened up her room window. The cool night breeze came in and cooled off Kari’s face as she stuck her head out the window. She sighed heavily because it was the fifth night in the row that she had the same dream. She didn’t understand what it meant and she wished more than anything that it would stop and at the same time she wished that the dream would never end because in that small moment of light she was sure she had found someone just like her. Kari moved away from her window and walked over to her bed; she sat down and looked at the time. It was 6’oclock in the morning. In another hour she would have to get up and get ready for school. She knew that she would never fall back to sleep so she decided to get a head start on her morning. As Kari walked down the stairs for breakfast she heard voices arguing with her mother. It wasn’t the first time she had heard these voices but it was the first time that she felt afraid. Her adopted mother Eclipse had found her when she was five years old and had raised her as her own child. Kari loves her more than anything in the world and she didn’t know how she could survive without her mother by her side but Eclipse was a soldier bound to a lifetime of servitude to the Holy Army. She was in fact general of the northern armies and her duties had kept her moving around a lot but for the last two years she had been able to stay in one city. As quickly as the stability came, it was just as quickly beginning to crash down around them. Rumors of war had been spreading around the kingdom and war would mean that her mother would have to be gone for an indefinite period of time. Her mother had been using all her power to keep her and Kari in Rigon city but her pull was waning and the queen wanted her in the holy city to begin battle plans. Kari stood midway down the stairs listening to her mother argue with the messengers and soldiers. She knew that her mother was fighting a losing battle and she did her best to hold back the tears trying to force their way out. She needed to be strong for her mother so that Eclipse could leave knowing that her daughter would be ok. After what seemed like hours, Eclipse finally sighed, the sign that she had given into defeat. She said her goodbyes to the messengers and let them out the house. As Eclipse walked through the living room and towards the stairs, she saw Kari sitting looking a little distraught. “I suppose you heard what just happened?” asked Eclipse but it was a question that she needed no answer to and so she continued to speak. “The queen has summoned me for the third time and refuses to take any other answer but yes. It seems that the kingdom of Ilese is beginning to move towards our borders with a rather large and menacing army. It is time for me to return to the battle fields once more. I’ve set up living arrangements for you with a close friend of mine. You will not remember him but you meet him once a long time ago. Anyway he is a good man and has agreed to take you in. You will leave early tomorrow morning. You should start packing your things.” “Why can’t I go with you?” asked Kari even though she knew the answer to that question already. Her mother would say that the battle field was no place for a young lady and Kari would mention that her Eclipse herself was a young lady when she became a soldier but Kari would not win the argument because her mother would give her this piercing look and she could say no more after that. Instead of going through the scenario, Kari shook her head and quietly walked upstairs. When Kari returned to her room she closed the door and proceeded to remove the ribbon tied around the end of her hair. The ribbon was the only thing she had left of a life she couldn’t remember. Kari released the spell on the ribbon and it glowed brightly for a moment. When the light was gone a small fairy like creature sat on top of the ribbon. The djinn was 5 inches in height with light green skin, long silver hair, and blue eyes. He looked at Kari with concern as she moved about the room pulling out clothes and other necessities for her trip. When she was done packing she sat down on her bed and starred up at the ceiling wondering what her new life would be like. The next day Eclipse woke Kari up early for the trip to her new home. “I promise you’ll be safe where you’re going,” said Eclipse as she stood next to the black car that was there to pick Kari up. “Yeah but what about you?” asked Kari in reply. Eclipse smiled and hugged Kari tightly before opening the car door and gesturing for her to get in. Kari starred at her mother for a long moment knowing that it might be the last time she saw her. The impatient driver grunted, Kari sighed and reluctantly got into the car. She watched her mother through the window until there was nothing left to see and then she cried silently as the car drove her to her new life.
After a couple hours of driving the car finally came to halt in front of a huge estate that Kari recognized immediately as the Jigon estate. Whoever Eclipse had connections with, they were pretty powerful connections thought Kari as she stepped out of the car. The driver hardly waited for her to close the door before he sped off and Kari was left alone. Nervousness racked her body as she starred at the iron gates wondering if she should approach them. Before her mind was made up, a middle aged man approached the gate from the inside and they began to slowly creak open. He motioned for Kari to come forward and she did so hesitantly. She followed the main to a small building not too far from the gates and wondered where he was taking her. “Move it!” shouted the man harshly as he pushed her through the door. Kari’s face was showered in confusion as she stumbled into a room filled with mostly with sealed boxes and crates. A single light hung from the ceiling casting a dim glow and making the shadows seem eerily large. Kari looked around very dazed and fear begun to creep in. The man walked into the room and quickly closed the door behind him. “I’m sorry about that,” said the man after he had closed the door. “The mistress said that we were to treat you harshly and I couldn’t go against her orders out in the open. She would’ve known and that would’ve meant trouble for me. I hope you’re alright?” Kari nodded her head unsure of how to respond the man sudden apology. Kari starred at the man closely and in the dim light and she could the see the deep shadows etched into the wrinkles of his skin. She looked into his dark grey eyes and knew immediately that he was telling the truth. “Why am I here? What’s going on?” asked Kari “I thought you knew that you were sent here as a new servant. Didn’t anyone tell you?” “That’s not true; my mother said I would be staying with a friend of hers.” “Well I guess you’re mother was ly-“ “She would never lie to me!” shouted Kari angrily. “You’re the only lying now tell me what the hell is going on here?” “Francisco is that you?” asked a female voice that sounded a bit muffled. Kari turned around just as a hidden door behind her was slowly creaked open, behind the door stood a plain looking young woman with indiscriminant features. If she had been in standing with a group of people she was sure to go unnoticed. The woman was lightly tanned with short blonde hair and dull brown eyes. Kari studied her carefully wondering what the woman was planning to do. The woman smiled gently at Kari and it was this woman’s smile that completely changed her face. The woman seemed much more beautiful when she smiled, her smile alone stood out against her plain face. It seemed to have a calming effect on Kari and her worries and anger began to slowly fade away. “You must be the new girl,” said the woman. “I’m Alexa, it’s as pleasure to meet you,” said the woman with a slight bow. It was a gesture that caught Kari off guard; she had never had anyone bow to her before. Kari blushed slightly and could only nod her head in reply. “So do you have a name,” asked the woman. “My name’s Kari,” she replied timidly. The woman smiled and nodded her head. “Kari, such a beautiful name. Well come on let’s get you changed and acquainted with the house and staff.” Kari nodded her head and followed Alexa out of the room.
Kari walked out of the bath house looking clean refreshed. She wore a long black off the shoulder dress with a white apron. “Aw you look so adorable,” said Alexa causing Kari to blush slightly. “Thanks,” replied Kari in a voice that was barely a whisper. Alexa reached into the pocket of her apron and pulled out a short silver chain with a white wing attached to it. The pendent was similar to the one Alexa wore. Alexa’s pendent had two blue wings attached to it. “This is for you, it’s like an identification card,” said Alexa as she handed to Kari. Kari looked it over and found her name carved into the back of the pendent. “The one wing represents your rank and you can get up to four rings and the color represents what types of duties you have. White represents cleaning duties. The wings also show which rooms you can enter for example you can only enter rooms with one white wing above them. “Let’s walk around and I’ll tell you more about this place.” Kari nodded her head and quietly followed Alexa out in the busy hallways of the mansion. “Let’s see there are also volunteer jobs you can take on depending on your rank,” began Alexa as she ushered Kari around the mansion. “New jobs are posted every week and the good thing about these jobs is that you get to keep all the money you earn on them so it’s a good idea to take on some when you have time. Well we’re here,” said Alexa and the stop walking when they step into a huge hall that is mostly quiet except for the few people walking through it. “I have to get back to work soon but master Viran will be here to show you around properly. Master Viran is very kind so don’t worry too much. I’ll be seeing you later since you’ll be my new roommate starting today. I’ll catch you later,” said Alexa and she started to walk away when she suddenly remembered one more thing. “Oh and also those of higher rank should be addressed as master or lady. So I’ll see you later.” Kari nodded her head feeling very nervous but she kept it to herself as she watched Alexa disappear behind one of the exits. Kira began to wonder if this is what her mother really had in mind for her when her thoughts are suddenly interrupted by the soft sound of footsteps entering the room. A young man around the same age as Kari walked in. Kari starred at him in awe, he was extremely beautiful. The young man had silver-blue hair that he kept tied in the back. He had light skin that helped bring out his fiery red eyes. He wore a white collar shirt with black slacks that on him looked like they came off a designer rack. On his right wrist he wore a bracelet that resembled two dragons wrapping around each other with the heads framing a small blue crystal. On his waist hung a custom made short sword and around his neck hung the same silver chain that Kari just received but with two red wings and one blue. The young man looked at Kari and smiled causing Kari to slightly blush. It was the same reaction he got from all girls and he found it very annoying. He knew exactly what would come next. He would speak to her and she would nod her head never answering his questions because she was probably very shy. The young man wondered why he was sent here when he had requested to be removed from this job. Despite the girl’s reaction he noticed that she was quite beautiful, probably one of the best looking girls he had seen out of academy he attended. She was the type of girl that would easily make other girls jealous of her even if she didn’t try. He turned his back ready to walk out, hoping the girl would follow and was surprised to hear her speak. “Um lady Alexa said that a guy would come to meet me here but-“ The young man quickly turned and glared at her before she finished her sentence. He had never been mistaken as a girl before and he didn’t like it at all. He was surprised to see that she looked frightened and his anger quickly began to fade. He started to laugh and Kari starred at him curiously. She watched as the young man continued to laugh. “Um did I say something funny?” asked Kari confused. “I don’t like people laughing at me,” she said angrily as he continued to laugh. “I’m sorry, you’re the first person to mistake me for a girl,” replied the young man she began to calm down. “My name is Viran, just Viran, I hate being called master and I am most definitely not a girl.” “I’m sorry,” replied Kari. “I didn’t mean to offend you.” “Well we should get started miss Kari.” “Kari is just fine,” replied Kari with a soft smile on her face. Viran nodded his head and proceed to walk out the door with Kari following closely behind.

Chapter One: The Angels of Death
Kira sat underneath a huge oak tree letting the warm summer breeze caress her face. She was a very beautiful girl, tall with a slightly muscular frame and light brown skin. She had purple hair that was cut short in the back with long bangs parted to each side of her face. She wore a red vest that was only buttoned once from the top and showed off part of the black bra she wore underneath, black khaki pants with black shoes, and several bracelets on her right wrist. Her silver eyes were full of life as she looked around. The clove she sat in was full of lush grass and beautiful flowers. Kira breathed in the heavenly scent of the flowers and it helped to relax her body. She stretched out her legs as she began to yawn. Next to Kira sat a plain green scarf and two silver bracelets, two small daggers attached to a red leather belt, and a backpack that was full. From underneath the scarf something began to stir and out came a tiny djinn. The djinn had smooth yellowish-green skin with long wavy silver hair, gold eyes and stood about 4 inches in height. She held herself proudly as she stood straight and flew up to Kira’s shoulder. “Good afternoon sleepy head,” said Kira with a teasing smile. “Kairi,” replied the djinn with a pout on her face. “I know what your name is,” said Kira as she grabbed the scarf and bracelets and stood up. “Sleepy head is just a nickname.” “Kairi!” “Fine,” said Kira with a sigh, “I won’t call you anything else.” Kairi nodded her head and smiled. “Well anyway,” Kira paused to brush her clothes off, “we have to head into town so that means you need to be bound for a little while.” Kairi shook her head and began to float away from Kira. “Look Kairi, I already explained to you why this is necessary. People are afraid of djinn users and I can’t have people running away from me when I need information from them.” Kairi continued to shake her head and started moving further away as Kira tried to approach her. “I’d rather not force you but I will if you don’t cooperate.” Kairi shook her head. “Alright then, binding spell level 1 Kai-“ “No!” shouted Kairi, “Kairi will come. Kairi will come,” she said in defeat. “That’s good,” said Kira satisfied and she held out the scarf. Kairi’s body began to glow and she flew towards the scarf. As Kairi’s body started to disappear, the scarf began to glow. When Kairi’s body had completely vanished, Kira wrapped the scarf around her neck and squeezed one end of the scarf through bracelets, the scarf immediately stopped glowing. She grabbed her bag and tied the leather belt around her waist before walking away. Kira walked for a few minutes until she came across a half paved road running north and south. She stepped from behind the thick blanket of trees and was greeted by the hot afternoon sun. She waited a moment for her eyes to adjust to the new lighting before taking the path south.
Takanei Village
“Alright so we’ve transferred the deposit amount into your account,” said an elderly man sitting at a round wooden table. The man had light brown skin that was wrinkled from age, long white hair kept in a braid, and the milky white eyes of a blind man. Next to the elderly man stood a tall young man with a slightly darker skin complexion and the same facial features. He had the same colored hair worn in the same style and startling blue eyes. He wore a white shirt with loose brown pants and sturdy brown boots. The young man had a look of disgust on his face as he stood quietly listening to the transaction take place. “Very well,” said another man standing across from the old man. This man was quite young as well. He was tall with a slight muscular build and light brown skin. He had silver hair tied back in a ponytail and beautiful lavender eyes. He wore a black dress shirt under a red vest with black pants and shoes. On his waist he wore a katana and around his neck was a black choker with a red orb hanging in front of it. Next to him stood another man who was slightly shorter with pale skin, blonde hair, and dazzling green eyes. This man wore a black jacket with dark blue pants and shoes. On his back he carried a katana and a pouch around his waist. The four men stood in small rectangular wood that was plainly furnished with the small round table, a couple of chairs, and a dresser. The room smelt burnt wood and smoked meat. “We won’t take long and we’ll leave as soon as we’re done,” said the blonde hair man. The elderly man nodded his head. He knew it was best that they didn’t stay long. The villagers had been in an uproar when they had heard the elder’s decision to hire djinn users to rid them of their problem. “Come on Kyosuke, let’s get this over with.” Kyosuke glared at the man who was standing next to the elderly man before leaving the house with his partner. “The angels of death father, of all the mercenaries you could’ve hired, you had to hire them,” shouted the young man when the other two had left. The elder frowned but did not make a sound. “Why djinn users, there are other mercenaries who can do the same work without using djinns.” “Hush Anar, they are the only ones capable of getting rid of that demon. I did what I believe was best for our survival, or would you rather me sit by and let my people get slaughtered?” asked the elder but he did not expect a reply. He stood up revealing a tall muscular frame that seemed out of place with his aged face. He walked into the adjoining room leaving his son to his own thoughts.
Kira entered the quiet village of Takanei and looked around in surprise. The streets were mostly deserted; the only noise came from the few people still loitering around and from the warm breeze passing through. Kira stopped a nearby villager and asked for directions to the inn. “It’s not too far down,” replied the middle-aged woman. “Better hurry and get there. No one should be in the streets when the demon pays a visit,” explained the woman and she hurried off. Now Kira understood why the streets were so deserted. She made her way towards the inn only seeing two other people along the way. The inn was a shabby looking two story building and since the town was so small it also served as a restaurant and bar. Inside, the first floor of the inn was very spacious and warm. There was a fire place to the back of the room that shot up a huge blanket of flames and smoke despite the warm temperatures outside. The place smelt of smoke, sweat and alcohol and Kira wrinkled her nose in disgust as she looked around. Off to the right of the room was a bar that was stationed by two bubbly waitresses who smiled flirtatiously while pouring drinks for their mostly male customers. Behind the bar was a door that Kira guessed lead to the kitchen area. To the left of the bar was a staircase leading to the second floor and to the left side of the room was another counter that was much smaller than the bar. This counter served as a registration desk for those wishing to stay at the inn. Behind this counter was a lovely young lady who was taking down the information of a disappointed looking couple. The rest of the room was filled with tables, chairs, customers, and more waitresses that served the people ordering food. “Can I help you with something?” asked a waitress slightly startling Kira. “Actually I’m looking for the two mercenaries known as the angels of death. I heard that they were passing through here.” “I don’t know why you’re looking for them but you better be careful of those djinn users. Nothing but filthy lowlifes if you ask me,” replied the woman with disgust. Kira flinched slightly at her words but did her best to hide her discomfort. She had never thought that people could hold so much contempt over the elementals. “So they’ve been here?” asked Kira anxiously. “Been here and unfortunately are still here. Our elder had the nerve to hire them to slay that damn demon.” Kira’s interest suddenly piqued when she heard the women mention a demon. It had been awhile since her last encounter with a real demon, they were a very rare sight. If one did manage to break through the realms of hell into earth it would mean it was a very powerful demon. Kira remembered clearly that time 5 years ago when she encountered a demon. She had been only twelve then but she remembered how exhilarating it had been to fight with a demon. Despite the joy she took in the battle she barely managed to escape with her life. Even for a high level elemental it had been quite a challenge. She didn’t want the mercenaries dying before she had a chance to speak with them. “And where does this demon live?” asked Kira curiously. The waitress looked at her with surprise and was stunned silent for a moment. When she finally regained her composure she stuttered her answer to Kira before nodding her head and quickly moving away. Kira thanked the woman as she walked away and then left the inn. Outside the streets were completely deserted and an uneasy feeling filled the air. Suddenly the wind picked up greatly shaking the roofs of the poorly built houses. “It’s coming this way,” said Kira to herself and as if on cue Kira saw a huge silver wolf rushing towards her direction. The wolf was about ten feet in height and Kira seemed like an insect compared to its size. Two young men were running alongside the wolf trying to slow it down with their attacks but with very little results. “Those must be the guys,” said Kira as she watched them get closer, “but that isn’t a demon. What’s going on here?”asked Kira confused and curious. She began to slip of a bracelet from her right arm and threw it into the air. The bracelet stopped in midair and started to spin until it was just a blur in the sky. “Binding spell level one!” shouted Kira while holding out her hands. The bracelet started to glow and increased in size. The wolf kept running in her direction and just when it reached her, Kira threw down her hands and the large bracelet flew towards the wolf. It wrapped around the middle of the wolf’s body immobilizing it. “What the hell are you doing?” shouted the blonde hair guy angrily. “This is our job!” “No need to thank me for saving your lives.” “Trust me, we won’t!” “Gabriel calm down,” said the other man and he put his hand on Gabriel’s shoulder as if to hold him back. “Kyosuke we have a job to do and she’s interrupting us,” replied Gabriel through gritted teeth. “I’m sure she has a good reason,” said Kyosuke and he looked at Kira waiting for her explanation. “Are you two so dense? I thought you were supposed to be the best of the best,” said Kira confused about her current situation. She was sure that this wolf wasn’t a demon. Its aura was not even dark. “Get to the pointed!” growled Gabriel angrily. He was quickly losing patience with this girl and wanted her to leave even if he had to resort to force for it to happen. “That’s not a demon.” “We realized that,” replied Kyosuke. “Is that all?” “Djinns don’t attack without reason! Why are you trying to hurt her? You should be trying to find out why she’s so angry.” The djinn growled loudly and shook its body trying to break free from the binding spell holding it in place. “She’s really upset. These people must’ve done something terrible to her.” “We really don’t care. We were just hired to get rid of her,” replied Gabriel. “I can’t believe you guys are elementals with attitudes like that.” “We only do what we’re paid for.” “Then I’ll pay you double to leave her the hell alone!” shouted Kira angrily. “What the-“ “Gabriel calm down,” said Kyosuke calmly. “I’m sorry miss but we can’t accept your offer. We are already in contract with these people and we have already received half the payment for the job.” “Then give it back. I won’t let you bother her anymore,” shouted Kira and is followed up by another loud growl from the wolf. Doors started to open as curiosity took over and people began to come see what was happening. People gasped as they saw the huge wolf immobilized by a huge ring. The air is suddenly filled with the voices of people asking questions. The wolf growled again and some people screamed in fear and ran back into their houses. The rest of the crowd suddenly began to part to let someone through. The person they parted for was the elder of the village led by his son. This man was the same man that had hired the two mercenaries to get rid of the demon. “What’s going on here?” asked the elder in a commanding voice that demanded an answer. “This b***h-“began Gabriel but Kyosuke cut him off quickly. “There is a young girl here demanding that we leave the creature alone. Isn’t this the creature you asked us to take care of?” asked Kyosuke and the elder’s son nodded his head. “This creature is not a demon!” shouted Kira. “It’s an elemental djinn. If you people weren’t so thick-headed you would’ve realized that from the start.” “How dare you talk to us like that?” said Anar angrily. “You’re the same filth that binds djinns and forces them to do your biddings.” “Really then, how about I just stop. Would that make you happy?” asked Kira and Anar nodded his head unsure of what she might do but willing to agree to anything that would cause one less elemental to be around. Kira held up her arm ready to release the binding spell on the wolf who was still struggling to break free. “Are you crazy?” shouted Gabriel surprised that she was really considering to release the spell and he turned to glare at the elder’s son. “They want me to stop binding djinns to my will so why not start with this one?” “If you let it go-“ “It’ll attack these people,” finished Kira. “I know that and they obviously deserve it.” “Is this really a djinn?” asked the elder suddenly interrupting their conversation. “Yes it is,” replied Kyosuke. “This djinn is the creature you asked us to kill.” “Why would a djinn attack our village? Djinns are sacred to us; we wouldn’t do anything to hurt them.” “Djinns are only sacred to elementals,” replied Kira. “You people don’t know anything about djinns. I bet you’ve been hunting wolves in the surrounding forest?” asked Kira suddenly and the villagers looked at her with surprise confirming her question. “What does that have to do with anything?” asked Anar whose patience was slipping away fast. “This djinn has taken on the shape of a wolf. She clearly has a pact with the wolves and you people must be killing off her pack.” The wolf suddenly growled as if to agree with Kira. “Level two binding spell, reduce,” shouted Kira and the bracelet around the wolf’s mid-section enlarges and moves up to its neck. It wrapped around the wolf’s neck like a collar and the wolf began to shrink until she was the size of a normal dog. “Level four binding spell, conform,” said Kira and this time the wolf’s body began to glow along with the bracelet. When the light disappeared the wolf stood before them in the shape of a naked young woman with red skin and fire as hair. Orange symbols for fire and flame wrapped around her body and the djinn stood there with a look of disgust and anger on her face. She let out a sound that sounded similar to a wolf’s growl. “I’m sorry lady wolf for forcing you to reveal your true form,” said Kira apologetically. “My name is Fiona,” replied the fire djinn. “I understand since these people are complete fools. I thought I would scare them by taking a few from their village but they continue to slaughter the wolves and they dare hire these men to kill me! I have never killed of their kind. I have the safely hidden away and am willing to return them on the condition that they stop hunting my wolves.” “Father,” said Anar unsure of what action to take. A look of surprise can be seen clearly on his and the other villagers’ faces. The elder stepped forward a few feet and suddenly fell to his knees in a deep bow. Tears poured down his blind eyes as he lowered his head. Anar and the other villagers quickly followed suit. “We have indeed been foolish Lady Fiona. We deeply apologize for our terrible deeds and promise from this day on to stop hunting the wolves that you hold so dear,” said the elder in deep remorse. Fiona nodded her head satisfied with their apology and reply. “In exchange I’ll return your people and ask that the wolves watch over this village but if a wolf should be killed again by your people then the price will be a life for a life.” “Very well milady, we will agree with these terms.” Fiona nodded her head and as she did people began to wander into the village with confused looks on their faces. The villagers cried out as they ran forward to embrace their loved ones. Kira smiled also satisfied with the outcome. She held out her hand to release the binding spell but Fiona stopped her. “I think I would like to travel with you. The wolves don’t need me with the new pact in place and I find you very interesting.” “Really?” asked Kira with surprise and delight. “I would love that.” “My previous form will be more comfortable and suitable,” replied Fiona and Kira nodded her head. “Level one release, level three release,” said Kira. Fiona turned back into a dog-sized wolf and her movement is returned. Kyosuke and Gabriel stood to the side watching, Kyosuke with a blank stare, and Gabriel in shock. “Does this mean we don’t get the rest of our money?” asked Gabriel. Kira turned to look at them and smiled she completely ignored Gabriel’s glare and began to talk to Kyosuke. “Well now that that problem is resolved, I have a proposal for the two of you.” “After you just lost us-“ “What is it?” asked Kyosuke cutting of Gabriel. Gabriel turned and started to glare at Kyosuke who ignored him as well. “I want you two to enter the Celesta city tournament with me?”
