Dear Diary,
An explosion didn’t destroy the school today.
Instead, a miracle happened.
A lot o’ kids were sick. Billy was gone. That’s a good sign. For lunch we had Peanut Butter and Jelly Specials. That’s when the cook makes a PBJ sandwich and puts a bag o’ chips on the side with a case o’ juice next to it. Cook gave me my favorite: Cherry juice.
Gym teacher was gone too, so we had a pleasant surprise. My track teacher was there. Instead of doing boring things, she got out a ball so big that I bet it could block out the sun. We bounced it back and forth. Then we played scooter tag until the end of the day.
When I got home, Quiz was there. He, well now, she licked my face. I’m glad she’s not that sick. I did my homework then played games with Ma. Quiz is gettin’ fatter. She’s not unhealthy, she’s just fatter. Which is weird, since Quiz is a picky eater.
Another surprise when I got home—Grandma wasn’t on her rocker starin’. She was asked to go to a school and do somewhat. Ma said she’s gonna remember things and tell kids. Which seems like a waste of time. My history teacher once said, “It’s not good to dwell on the past.” I didn’t see what was so funny when everyone else laughed.
Ma left the house to go pick up Grandma. I watched the box and ate chips with dip. Quiz was there too. We had a great time. I could almost tell that Quiz was feelin’ better.
I’m prayin’ to God that the kids stay sick until the end of the school. I don’t want to see Billy ever again.
