Ryan watched the television with unfailing attention. The sound that coursed through the speakers were as disturbing as they could ever get. Screams of horror, shells bringing carnage smashed into the ground with a crude and terrifying explosion of fire, dirt and blood. An unknown mixture of liquid splattered on the face of the reporter; tears welling up in her eyes as she was crouched underneath a fallen building many miles away. But the battle was clear as day even from the distance.
"A-As you can see," the reporter, Shila Norm, fluttered as another bomb crashed into what was until then, a hotel. "The Egyptian air force is showing no mercy to the Israelis. It will not be long till the climax of this... This slaughter."
Miss Shila could not have been more right, as the F-4s lined up in a foreboding formation. It seemed this was quite possibly the end of Jerusalem, and with that, Israel death imminent. But something strange, happened. As they were about to pass over the newly built Jewish temple for it's final stand, two bombers, each on the very edge of both sides, started to smoke. Soon, they were twisting in the sky, and crashed into their comrades. Sending the whole division into total chaos, all the F-4s blew up in the air with lovely shades of orange and red, signifying the end of the raid.
Shila appeared dumbfounded, sharing the shocked expressions of locals that were taking shelter with her. After a moment of silence, more screams and hollers filled the area. But these were not of pain and anguish, but of rejoice.
The reporter started to sob of joy into her hands, which was heard by whoever was listening to her on the television as her left hand still had the microphone. She stopped short after, but still had streams of tears as she faced her audience.
"Dear Americans, and fellow supporters of Israel. Today, we have just witnessed of a God-breathed miracle. As He has once again, saved his people from what appeared to be certain destruction."
Ryan turned off the TV, and sighed a breath of relief. It was scary, truly scary to watch. As he got up from his couch, he walked outside, staring at the clear and warplane-free sky of Rofezia, Wyoming. While it was a small city of about 15,000 residents, it was one of the least heard of cities in the state. And Wyoming, one of the most looked over states in the country didn't help any cause for Rofezia to be more well known.
This world gets worse and worse, by the day. Ryan thought glumly. Ever since the temple was built four years ago and worship began, Israel is even under more threats. The wars... Russia has consumed China, out of the blew. And now their army is even more powerful. The European Union decided that any country on the continent that wouldn't join them, would be laid siege. Now they control all of Europe, but at the price of their economy and strength of their government. Their parliament makes America look like sunshine and rainbows.
Ryan sat down on a nearby chair on the patio. Watching the neighborhood kids do an strange dance around their swing set, he continued to think. That's another thing. The kids reminded him. All the strange events around the world. While the temple was being built, and even now, people have been slaughtering red heifers. Not for sacrifice, just... Well, no one knows the motive.
His thoughts were interrupted by his Miss Behavin' ringtone. He looked at his cellphone, curious as to who was calling. The LCD screen flashed Isaac.
"Hello?" Ryan answered.
"Hey! What's up, man?"
"Nothing much, really. Did you see the news?"
"Ah, yeah! Crazy stuff, isn't it?"
"Mhm. Yeah... I kind of wonder... Well..."
"Oh, don't even say it. Are you thinking about that crazy s**t, 'Revolution' or something?"
"It's Revelation, and it's not crazy. We both know what I think and believe, so don't even start it." Isaac knew about Ryan being a Christian, and he wasn't going to let him badger him anymore about how "stupid" he thought it was.
"Yeah, yeah. Whatever." Isaac said blandly, "But no, seriously. You wanna celebrate our first day being seniors in high school with some very fine feminine company?"
"Uhm. No thanks. I was already assigned homework, so I need to get studying." he lied.
"Lame. Very lame. Alright man, just remember, though. While you're in your bedroom with homework, I'll be at home working a hot girl into my bedroom." he said, lustfully. With that as his final words, Isaac hung up on a very uncomfortable Ryan.
