A dark force surrounds Nippon,the earth of human beings.
It is Orochi,the eight headed dragon serpent.
Orochi is a monster that creates cursed zones that affects the people in the area to become statues.
A white sacred wolf,named Shiranui,guards a small town named Okami from Orochi.As in Okami,thre is a sacred tree which is from heaven's celestial plains.
In the tree,there is a tree sprite named Sayuka.She is the tree herself.
Every Year,a maiden has to be offered to Orochi as a sacrifice for peace.
This year,A maiden which is Nagi's beloved,was chosed to be the sacrificed.
Nagi enraged,Fought Orochi with all his strenght.
But Orochi's steel plate protected itself from harm.
Shiranui heard the commotion and Went to fight with Nagi.
Using the celestial brush,he drew the wind sign and blew Orochi's flames away.
Orochi died soon after.Nagi then used his sword and sealed Orochi's soul away in the moon cave.Shiranui and nagi were badly injured and died after an hour.

Shiranui was actually a god named Amaterasu from the celestial plains.It;s brush was from a talented bug like artist named Issun.
100 years of peace had past.But someone who was believed to be Nagi's decendant unleashed Orochi's soul again.
