3,000 years ago, the scientists on the planet of Klingon planet began to tamper with nature. At first it was innocent, and helpful to the Kligi race. They would find ways to increase the growth rate of their plants, thus ending world hunger. The real problem began when they began experimenting of insects. The first and last insect they tested on was the Anigav. This creature was small and generally harmless, although it was a nuisance in many of the Klingites’ homes; no one paid much mind to it. The growth hormones the scientists injected into the Anigav were too concentrated. They went from 1 centimeter in length to 3 centimeters. They became much more aggressive and breaded too quickly. Eventually the cities were overrun by the creatures. The people then discovered that the Anigav were nearly indestructible, and they had to find a way to contain them before they destroyed their beloved planet. The only way the scientists could contain the insects was to make them dependant on a host. The first unlucky Klingite, Xavier VI was chosen to be the host. He was only 18 years old, and died at 26, for the Anigavs killed him from the inside out. At this same time, 30 others were chosen to bare the same responsibility as Xavier, but their names were nearly forgotten, only their loved ones remembered them, and they have died long ago. After this, whenever a host died, the Anigav would move to the nearest Klingite, and as quickly as possible, for they couldn’t live long without a body to live in. With this, the Anvigav’s numbers dwindled and became more of a long forgotten bedtime story than a threat, so now all of Klingon rests in piece, that is, except for the few men and woman who are eaten from the inside out.
