[Kai Note: I'M AT 105 PAGES WITH THIS!! WHOOOOOOOOO!! Farthest I've gotten with any of my books! xd So one good thing came off that senseless Saterday School: I gpt a good portion of the story written. ^^" Four hours straight of writing. *shakes hand to loosen cramping muscles* So here's the next part. Hope you all enjoy it. RECAP: Luichen, Sotaru, Rem, & Kai are fighting against a whole army of Genesis & a very powerful mage. Kio, Taka, Jack, Taronis, Zaira, and Aergan are on their way to help.]
The two halves of the Genesis fell to the ground. Luichen was already slicing off the head of another behind him as the army closed into his trail of bodies. A deadly spin cut a group of them down, the severed torsos falling thickly to the ground. A crimson wave of bloodshot from all sides of him.
It were times like this that Luichen felt so alive. Bloodlust took over his senses the more the sticky liquid coated his body. He could smell its metallic aroma; he could feel its slickness between his fingers; and he could taste it. The more the feeling grew, the more his power increased. He could feel his spirit energy pump thickly through his system along with the adrenaline. The flare of his aura became more dense the more he slayed.
A sudden shout of warning form his consious told him to look to the left. Red flags were waving like tassles in a hurricane in his head. A huge swarm of Genesis were piling in one area. THey seemed wary to approach, but there were enough to hold their ground. He could see bits of flames & bolts shoot over the heads.
"Kai...."
The demon wan forward to aid her, but gotonly a few feet before an enormous ax came down on his head. Luichen blacked the attack by crossing Requim agaisnt it. The war instruments clashed together to produce a deep resonating chime that strangled all other sounds. Luichen glared at the towering Genesis that had suddenly appeared in his path. Its bulky form pressed all its weight against Requim. Luichen grunted under the sudden pressure as he tried to find an opening around the massive frame. The demon peered under the Ganesis's arm. HE could see the swarm close in a tighter circle around the demoness, slowly over-powering her by numbers. She was too busy keeping her gaurd from all sides that she couldn't fly out.
Luichen pushed the Genesis off his blade, flinging it off balance and exposing his entire torso. He brought his sword above his head, angling to cut through the soft spot at hte base of his opponent's neck. The red flags went, again, signaling an incoming assult. Luichen felt his body move on its own. He felt himself twist to the side & lean back, avoiding being stabbed through the chest. As the blade by him, Luichen's sword point jammed into the second Genesis's throat. Luichen peered over his shoulder to see where the big one was, only to find it looming over him with its ax about to come down on Luichen's head...
THWACK!!
An arrow wrought of green energy shot through its skull like a bullet, spewing a shower of blood. The Genesis jolted & awkwardly stiffened. Its dulled eyes stared blankly at Luichen before slowly leaning back & dropping to the ground. Luichen looked to the sky for the person that had just saved him. He could barely make out Rem's outline against the sky. A shower of light green energy arrows were flying like at the swarm that was quickly over-powering Kai. A huge number fell & the demoness quickly took the advantage, slaying a handful more before jumping in the air & into safety.
Luichen sighed as he saw her escape. He pried the ax from the stiff, cold fingers of the giant Genesis. He tested the weight for a minute, jumping the handle up & down in his palm, before he found the perfect balanced grip. A cry made him look up to a Genesis being who was charging head-on at him. Luichen rolled his eyes & threw the ax at it. The weapon spun at the being like a baton in incredible speeds & cleaved through the skull. Luichen readied Requim & charged into the army, his blade spinning with accurate aim like a deadly whirlwind of metal. The victims fell dead one after the other in his wake.

Rem sniped a few Genesis that were trying to sneak attack Sotaru from behind. The ninja was holding his ground quite well for one individual. More than well. His stealth made him untouchable & almost undetectable to the Genesis. & his attacks were devastating to the enemy. Everyone in a while he was able to sneak off and set up a quick trap that left a hundred more Genesis dead.
She looked over at the mage, feeling despair as she summoned up a few more portals & allowed a few thousand more Genesis to pour onto the battlefield. There was no way only the four of them could continue this. Even if they had the strength to take out all the never-ending waves of Genesis, it would leave them too drained to fight the mage. She was going to crush them either way. Rem's shoulders slumped as shed realized they were being slowly pushed into the dark trap of the Mage's plot. She looked over to the blackened horizom, hoping wistfully that the others would suddenly appear there & come to their aid. It only showed nothing but a dark & empty void.
Rem tensed again as she re-readied herself for combat. Her expression became stern & a dangerous light glinted in her eyes. Though it seemed relatively vacant of emotion, the expression put a chill through anyone unfortunate to get in her gay. A aura pulsed off her as her green fireflies swirled around her body. When they disspated int oa shower of dying sparks, she was covered in an armor wrought of some sort of bone. Her wings looked like they had been dipped in melted metal, each individual life-like feather was a sharp blade. She kamikaze-ed towards the army.
A few pourly aimmed arrows made her shift to her side to dodge them, resulting in a spin as she pulled up from her dive at the last minute. Rem grazed the top of the army at high speeds, her bladed wings loping off heads & other things as she spun. Spears, arrows, swords, & axes flew her way, but her rock hard armor & metallic wings prevented any penetration.
Rem locked her senses ontot he individual she was searching for, & took a sharp right turn. Her right wing dipped so far down in the throbbing midst of the Genesis that it sliced off legs. By now her feathers were covered in glossy crimson streaks.
Rem caught sight of a huge black energy flare not too far away. A dark light radiated from the huge, crackling 7-foot energy sphere. It was charging up for something. Rem pulled up just as a huge ripple of fire tore through the ground, incenerating everything in its path to ashes. Even at a safe distance, Ram had the shield herself form the heat. The smell of burny corpses, sulfer, and smoke flaoted to her senses. Ash tickled her nose & dusted her eyes.
A lone figure was seen sprinting through the grey & clouded smog. Rem flew back towards the field & followed the being, the charred land zooming beneath her in every shades of black & grey.

Every inch of Kakairo's body twitch. Her energy pulsed inside her like waves on a shore. The huge surge of sdrenaline & the metallic scent of blood was making her inner monster crazy. It called to her; moaned; roared; growled. It heightened her bloodlust & put pleasure into each time she swung her wakizashi. Each time it took a victim a dark sneer spread across her face. A tiny cyclone of black aura throbbed and cascaded around her body Though the demoness tried desperately to ignore it & keep it from coming out, because if she were to lose control then everyone would be in danger. The creature had no emotions nor understanding of anything sentimental.
After letting loose her fire ring an leaving the place charred for about 40 yards, she sped towards the nearest froup of Genesis. Her legs pumped harder & faster at the growing anticipation of the oncoming assault. Her aura became stronger as she neared.
She hit the frontlines like a cannonball, the sheer force of her aura's energy hurling some a few feet back. Kai cut through a good number before the Genesis realized they were being attacked. When they finally noticed they were in the presence of the enemy, they quickly surrounded her. Kakairo jerked her blade from a Genesis's skull & did a 360 in a split second. A silver arc from from her blade was the only sign of her movements. A shower of blood spouted from all sides as the beings closest to her fell dead.
A new wave soon approached over the slain. Kai hacked and cut her way through them one after the other. The demon inside of her became more eratic and struggled to get out of its prison, like a tormented bird within too small of a cage. She could feel it slowly slip out, wisp by wisp. & with it came new power & twice the strength. Her swings became stronger & more accurate as her aura became even more powerful than before. Scales with a dusty rust hue appeared in splotchy spots on her skin. The power, the strngth, even her moral side became fond of such an idea. & the demon let out a rugged purr as it was starting ot be accepted.
A Genesis suddenly appeared in front of Kakairo & swung its katana down on her. She barely jumped back in time. She could feelt the blade tear through the skin on her forehead & down past the red jewel in the middle. Adrenaline & shock slowed a second into an eternity. She stared wide-eyed at the Genesis. THe cold sting of the gash surprised her. A trickle of blood rolled between her left eye & the base of her nose. THe crimson drop slid down like a tear, tickling her cheek, and entering the corner of her mouth.
The taste... the thick, sweet, metallic taste. It fed her inner demon and unlocked the last metal bond that secured it inside. Kai's glaring eyes issued an eerie red glow. The burst of new energy that suddenly shot from her form was enough to ripple the atmosphere. Her aura became a twisting black cloud. The only thing seen of her behidn it was her silhuette & her glowing eyes. An arm shot from the darkness and four 5-inch black claws stabbed into the the throat of the bewildered Genesis before her. Another came attacking from the right just as Kai withdrew her hand.
"KAI!!"
Rem's voice cut through the evilness that was starting to over-power her mind and lock up her morality. Kakairo gasped & felt herself be pulled back to the real world. The siren voice of the demon's whispered temptations fell away into a furiated banshee screech as it was once more locked back up. The aura vanished & the glowing creased to show a very bewildered & more human-ish Kai. The splotches of scales remained, but the claws had reduced back to nails & her eyes weren't glowing anymore.
Rem landed on the face of a Genesis who was about to cut Kakairo down. She heard it crunch beneath her. By then, Kai had regained her composure & was hacking down the genesis on the other side of her. The two women twisted around so that they stood back-to-back.
"Are you ok?" Rem called to her over the roar of the battle. She heard the demoness grunt something that sounded like a gruff 'yeah'.
Rem sliced at a mid-section before stabbing through another with her broadsword. "We can't continue like this. More & more thousands keep being summoned. Even if we could miraculously get past this, we won't have enough left for the Mage."
Kai kicked a Genesis she jsut stabbed off her blade and looked towards the general direction she sesned the Mage's energy was coming from. She had taken refuge on top of a barren & battle-scarred hill. She was summoning another portal of another hundred Genesis.
"How are the guys holding up?" she asked as she returned her attention to the battle.
Rem snorted as she killed a few more. "Sotaru's beign his ninja self. & Luichen's too stubborn to even comply to Death. I think they'll be fine."
Kai swung the blunt end of her blade into the temple of another attacker, knocking him unconscious. Another came stumbling at her withe a rediculously large hammer. Kai hacked him down & took up his weapon.
"So let me get this straight..." she began. She paused long enough to smash the hammer into the head of the knocked out Genesis. "We're attacking the source."
Rem gave her a grin as Kai read her mind without actually doing so. Kai returned it with the smirk & the two simutaniously shot into the air.
