I have seen this question so many times. So, I went and got some ways of telling.
1. Make friends with her close friends (the ones with the big mouths).
2. See if she flirts with you uncontrollably or avoids you altogether. She'll usually all of a sudden get louder or quieter when you come around.
3. Notice how she looks at you--she will either hold it for a long time or pull away immediately.
4. If her friends are loud and immature, you'll hear "(your name), (her name) likes you!" If she says "no I don't" more than 3 times with a smile or while laughing nervously, then you can assume she likes you.
5. Watch for her being extremely mean or extremely nice to you for no reason.
6. Look for her eyes to light up when she sees you or hears you or your name.
7. Check if she seems mad or will say comments like "just kiss her already" when you flirt with girls.
8. Notice if she touches you more often (or finds any excuse to do so).
9. Be aware if she seems overeager to fix you up with someone.
10. If she stalks you, she likes you.
11. Or, get to know her, tell her you like her and just see what she says. =) But if she DOES NOT LIKE YOU, NO MEANS NO!!! Unless she tries to be your friend, dont put on the whole "just-friends" act. You might as well forget her.
12. If she asks you something like "Have you ever been asked out to the dance?", she's implying that she wants you to ask her out to the dance.
Just one of these reasons is uasually not enough and can be miss inturpreted. Look for multiple signs.
