Hey guys. I’m kind of confused of what I should be doing right now in my life. This is just a way for me to lay my options out before me.
1. Career paths a. Meteorology b. Chemical/Mechanical Engineering c. Officer
1. Career paths Well this is a big choice for me. It’s what I’m going to be for the rest of my life and I haven’t committed myself to a path. Depending on what I choose will also decide what school I go to for that job.
A. Meteorology is something that has just always interested me. It seems like forever that I’ve been fascinated by weather. I’ve done some studying on it already and I’m a member of Skywarn. I still have a lot to learn but I know some basics. I can enjoy seeing my sister panicking about severe weather. She sees a dark cloud nearby and sirens going off. She will panic and run to the basement. I sit on the roof and watch the storm as it pass us about 5 miles away from us.
B. Engineering is something that recently sparked my interest. It is uncharted territory and a bit clouded. The general requirements to be an engineer are things that I fit very well in. I’m great at math, have an interest in all science, and am fairly well at English class. It seems like something I can do and a lot of people around me have said they could see me as an Engineer.
C. Ever since I was little, I’ve always looked up to soldiers. Now I have a chance to lead them, to become a soldier. This is also something that was sparked recently but have admired for a while. I’ve got friends who have already enlisted in the military and all of the soldiers that I talked to have encouraged me to follow through with taking ROTC. It’s a bunch of college classes that I would take while going after Meteorology/Engineering. Problem is everyone who is not a soldier has highly discouraged me from doing this.
