I'm watching a special about pearls on PBS. They're talking about how the oysters on pearl farms are beginning to show signs of inbreeding such as weak shells. Apparently even cultured pearls are becoming really rare.
Also, I see the new Pearls Before Swine comic collection is out. Pastis talks about a meeting he had with Charles Schulz. It's interesting, but it also feels like Pastis is still insecure about being a published comic artist. It's like he needs to cling to the coat tails of "Sparky." I still like his comic, but I have to say I hate the crocs. I hope he does more with pig and rat later heart !
