Beside her egg the maiden waits,
While in the egg a dragon grates.
A rumble felt by gwee atop
Makes flap its wings
To float up off.
Beside the dame a pixie sings
And spreads its magic faerie dust.
And down from dragon comes a gust,
That makes the maiden lean in tight
In hopes that hatch the hatchling might.
The time of hatching now is near,
So don't leave now but wait right here.
Who knows what creature lie within,
but that it is a dragon's kin.
