CHAPTER 8:
Gojo’s eyes began to glisten, a light green under the sunlight as he watched the ocean of Escapal that was situated between Esfrodante and Rosplain. He smiled as the eastern winds slapped his elfish face. Everything was peaceful, in just a few hours he was going to embrace his wife inside his manly arm. He needed to enjoy the freedom, the peacefulness that harmonized with him, the calmness that he embraced, “GOJO!” His eyes opened and carried a rather annoyed expression. “…What Mathius?” annoyed he questioned the amused drow that tilted over the edge of the silver ship. “Wow! I never left Esfrodante a day in my life!” He claimed excited as he looked at his ally with happiness in his eyes.
“My parents never brought me out of Nosferatu” He stated cheerfully and bubbly, Gojo never left the rims of the ship as he began to silently mumble to himself “ya, I know why” “Gojo mumbling is bad it makes it hard to speak when you grow older” he advised. It didn’t take long before Mathius began to watch the Nihplod’s jump along side of the ship, (Nihplod’s are dolphins) he looked at Gojo and childishly guided his finger towards them. “Gojo! Gojo! Look! Look!” He called out, “Not interested” ignored Gojo, “Gojo c’mon Gojo, Look Gojo! GOJO!” Mathius began to bounce up and down however; Gojo refused to look at the dark elf. “GRRR!” Mathius sighed, upset of Gojo’s meanness towards him. He looked at the Nihplod’s as he began to think how riding one would feel like, however; he never dared attempted to ride one. He looked over the edge.
//SPLASH//
Loud voices began to gather as a woman screamed “OH NO SOMEONE FELL OVER BOARD!” Gojo’s eyes dropped “please don’t let that be who I think it is” he stated to himself as he walked slowly towards the edge and leaned forward, and a splashing drow calling out for help. “MATHIUS YOU MORON!” He shouted, receiving glances from the passengers “who’s gonna save him?” cried out a rather fat lady. He sighed disappointed that he couldn’t enjoy his day on the oceanic ship. He slowly headed towards a rowboat and climbed in. “Sir!” one of the ship crew members headed towards him as he panted “you can’t…go…” and after wards his words were muffled out and hard to understand. Gojo nodded and shrugged as he rolled himself down rowing away towards Mathius whom was desperately seeking out for air.
“I got to make it” he panicked as he pulled his weight out of the water and back into it. He gasped as he batted his arms in and out. He swung his arm one last time as he began to sink, he felt drawn to the abyss as he began to believe that this was going to the last final hours of his life. The gods of his families old books were coming to claim him and bring him to their overworld and finally he’ll become one with them. He felt his cheeks flush to a pale color, and began to regret not learning to swim when he was a child, and now because of it he was dying. He watched the fish swim around and soon felt gravity loosening and he was pulled out seeing the light of the sun once again. He began to feel tears trail down his face as he looked at his rescuer that pulled him out.
Gojo looked at Mathius in shear panic as he began to shake him calling out to him, however; all that Mathius heard was the muffled words that were but a blur to him. Until finally, he began to hear the cry that Gojo cried out to, “Mathius! MATHIUS!” Mathius coughed out the water that was stuck inside his lungs and soon the white hair male began to speak, “You saved me,” The Drow cried, as he looked at Gojo who smiled relieved that he was a hero for an idiot. “Oh thank the overworld your alive” the elf felt relieved as he supported Mathius to sit up, “lets get back to the—“ he looked at the ship that drove off without them “ship…” Gojo’s face slumped into depression. “I think they left without us” bluntly stated Mathius as he picked up a paddle “well this is our only way into Rosplain now” he stated, for once being intelligent.
Gojo didn’t respond he grabbed the other paddle as they began to row the boat. Mathius poked his head to the side and watched the fish swim, “well its better than being in that crowded ship right Gojo?” no response, “right Gojo?” “Shut up” plainly ordered Gojo as they rowed. It didn’t take long before Mathius had dropped the paddle that sunk just as quickly. “Mmh…mmmh…Gojo…” “Don’t you dare say, it I know what happened and don’t you are—“I dropped the paddle” sadly replied Mathius who was now left empty-handed. Gojo sighed as he controlled now both ends of the row boat, “you moron, I save your life and this is what you make me to you’re useless!” Gojo was now angry, and couldn’t even stand being near the drow that now was left with a sad expression.
Mathius cried and soon brightened up as he saw the Nihplods raise from the water. “Hey it’s the Nihplods from earlier” the Nihplods whistled, Mathius clapped his hands together in amusement, however; Gojo remained angered. One of the Nihplod decided to grab the paddle and snatch it from Gojo. They swam off. Leaving Gojo also left empty-handed and now in mad fury. “FROM ALL THE POSSIBLE THINGS THAT CAN HAPPEN TO ME I WAS LEFT WITH THE VILLAGE IDIOT! AAAAAH” He shouted, both now stranded in the center of the ocean.
