Well, this semester I will not be attending school because I have no money. And the program I'm switching into doesn't start until the fall. So there is no reason for me to take classes (and spend money) when it won't go towards the degree.
I know my parents are upset. I can't really blame them. I am as well. I have been in school for a long time and I am nowhere to getting a degree. I switched from secondary ed to computer programming, only to discover that I am no good at it (even though I do enjoy it) and everything my teachers talk about are way over my head. And these are still the beginners classes. Everyone else in the class didn't seem to be having any problems. So it is just me.
So now I'm doing what my father said I should do from the beginning, and getting a technical degree. Computer networking. (Ironically enough, it's what he used to do). Hopefully I can get a handle on this and finish it in the two years it takes for the degree. I can get certified in one though.
My plan is to get the certification, get a new job that pays more, has better benefits, and will give me more hours, and then go the second year to get the degree. I already have a few classes that I can substitute for ones int he program, so that's less I have to do to get the degree.
We'll see how this one goes though.
