What is it about a new year that makes us all want to write a list of promises to ourselves that we don't actually intend to keep? Why then, do we proceed to be upset with the results when we can't actually accomplish what we set out to do? It always amazes me the thought and effort people put into their new year resolutions, only to disappoint themselves later when they can't fulfill their own promises. Ironic, no?
I think it's the whole 'new' bit that gets everybody thinking, "oh, a fresh start, eh?" and then they go off and do their little new year's resolutions, and I sit there, roll my eyes, and think to myself:
'I have goals, and someday I'll achieve those goals, but for now, let's not add to the list and disappoint me when I fail to complete all of them.'
