Chapter 2

This was a time when knights, Lords and Ladies who wore old robes and armor, which were very high class, etiquette and modest as well, ruled the lands. Life seemed perfect and yet things are never perfect as demons, vampires and other creatures walked the earth as well. Yet all demons and vampires were not sinister, other stories have it as vampires and demons are these horrid creatures that kill non stop and ravage homes burning cities to the ground, but we forget they are living beings as well and have a beating heart that can love.
This story is about a demon prince who fell in love with a vampire princess. The tale of the two has many journeys, tragedies and romantic moments.
Now, even though the love for the two was an undying love it was forbidden. At this time, vampires derided the humans but kept them close since that was their source of food, but they despised any kind of demon scum. The two races have been at war for sometime now and won't end for another hundred years probably. Yet still these two did anything and everything they could to stay together. And to make things worse, their fathers were at war with each other having numerous battles and many more to come. A Demon King fighting a Vampire King, it was never easy for the two lovers and never will be, especially for what the gods have in store for them. But that’s getting too far into the story, let’s go back to the time, when they met and see how things are now, the way they are.....

Sayuri (Sy-ur-ie) was more then breathe taking. Her beautiful blood red orbs gleamed as the sun began to rise hitting them just right. Now you may be asking yourself, a vampire...in the sun? Sayuri is a pure bred vampire, their blood and skin is powerful enough to resist sunlight whereas half breeds (being bit if you will) die from sunlight because there blood and skin is too weak of power, and by power not meaning invincible but powerful as being well fit and strong to resist something’s.
Sayuri was 112 years of age yet that being extremely young for a vampire, humans and others seeing her somewhere in the twenties. She was a tall girl yet never matching the men's height, making her slightly average. She was very slender but it made her body look absolutely perfect. And yes just like any other vampire, she had sharp pointed fangs that made her look even more vibrant. She was kind and a good leader if her leadership skills were needed. She was a good listener, gentle and very down to earth.
Her father Nero was just as kind but very stubborn and hard to speak your mind to. He was caring yet only to his people (vampires.) He has ruled his Kingdome for more than 600 years if not more and would be damned if he lost it to the humans or demons. He fights for protection for his people and more his daughter and son. Both Sayuri her brother and her father lost Siria, a loving wife and caring mother, who died giving birth to Sayuri making her the youngest, Nero also had a son who was a couple hundred years older then Sayuri, named Serious (Ser-ry-ous.) Serious was almost a spitting image of sayuri, but was more masculine having black as night long hair, whereas Sayuri had long orange/red hair like her mother, which is why her father treasures her so.

On a beautiful spring day, Sayuri looked from her balcony seeing far out across the land, the land that belonged to her father. She took in a deep breath closing her eyes holding in the good clean air in her lungs before exhaling it all out feeling very relaxed. She opened her eyes again so grateful to be able and see the sun rise and set every day. Yes she did love the night as well, but you must remember half breeds never get to see the morning sky which made her grateful.
She then walked back into her room and watched her human maidens come in a bit nervous but knew Sayuri would never harm them, and began to dress her and ready her for the long luxurious day that was ahead of her.
When they were finished making her gorgeous and finished dressing her, she was in a beautiful sky blue gown that shimmered in the sunlight, as her hair was down, long and wavy as usual. She then strode out of her room down to meet with her father and brother who sat there discussing of the up coming battles in the next week or so.
They both looked at her as she smiled seeing them both stand being gentlemen.

"Good morning Father....Serious." She would say hugging the two very gently.

"Good morning sis." Serious said over looking her gown then back at her face.

"It is good to see such beauty in the morning such as this." Nero would say kissing her cheek then let her go.
Sayuri smiled at them thanking her father for the kind compliment then looked at the battle plans sighing slightly.

"Father...is there no treaty we could have the demons sign.....I dislike them as well but all these battles make me nervous, especially for Serious, I fear the day when or if they ever get a chance to destroy him and his men."

"Sayuri, we take precautions very well, Demon scums do not plan their battles or tactics very well, these last few battles will send them running for the hills." Serious said gloating proudly knowing for a fact these plans were a true way to beat the enemy.
Nero nodded agreeing with his son.

"You need not worry my dear."

"Well at least let me watch the battle...from a far but...I have always been a bit curious...please." Sayuri begged her father hoping he would allow it.
He was completely shocked not wanting to hear the words that were spoken from her mouth. He wanted to die right there speechless at the fact his only daughter wanted to be close to danger.

"No I won't allow it! Never will I put my daughter at risk, never will I never put you in harms way, and your mother would look down upon me if you were hurt or worse killed. No...I will not allow that. You stay here with me...safe and well guarded."

Sayuri disagreed and wanted to argue but knew she wouldn't win this argument with her father and just agreed with him.
A few hours later into the day Serious and Sayuri began a small duel that involved a bit of training, helping them improve both powers and fighting skills, it especially helped Sayuri.

"Why does he treat me like I am a god....You are his child as well Serious...I don't understand....Why?"
She would say as they began to clash their swords together. They swiped left and right, blocking and evading each others blows and swipes, and for a female, Sayuri was pretty well trained to protect herself and keep herself from being harmed.

"Because you are the one to carry on the throne, I am a general, I am the holder of all the militia...you....well, you're the one who provides an air and keep the bloodline strong."

"You mean a mother, wife is what I am to become in the future, doesn't sound very exciting or heroic."

"Its not suppose to, but that is your future, your job, and your responsibility...."

He threw a couple more swipes at her, yet she was too quick either evading or parrying his swipes, then threw him off balance knocking back a bit.

"It doesn't seem fair, and I suppose also I don't get to choose my lover..."

"Hmmm I would say no, it is father’s job to find you the right husband."

"Yes old and no sense of humor or fat and loves nothing more then to eat and have royal heirs....Can't wait"
He just laughed as he swiped at her knocking her down throwing the weapon from her hands and pointed the weapon to her neck. He let a smile slide onto his lips making her know that he had won this round for sure.
Sayuri sighed and stood up wiping any dirt that may have gotten onto her gown. "Well....now that you beat me....."

"No worries my dear sister....I promise things will soon become clear and you will be happy with the man father finds you."

And with that they headed back to the throe room.
